Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).

, l- t3 _$ g. Q& \+ x) O-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
" H# l2 i  L$ |7 S+ d5 r+ z5 J% {-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
0 O: I, [6 T/ r' z& J. K5 f-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

6 b% ~+ m, t# S+ sKey Qualifications:
" c9 z9 L, y! K; s, |) @( F-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
. Y# E0 g7 P: U$ w-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
, t2 `2 Y5 X: }9 z0 P0 T-        Experience doing program development
& L3 f( G5 Q% U( d3 \-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
, Z) }% b( _' o; b0 L-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


5 t  N( S- e  v# QAssets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
( y. s. F! A. i) B/ T-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
4 `. K2 G9 w4 J0 K3 O-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required
