Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
$ q8 q2 O4 [9 z-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health


& C. p6 x5 d9 Z: dKey Qualifications:
2 m& P! J+ c; @$ f6 e# L-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
( _5 G/ r; P8 a7 v( C-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
9 J+ L2 a' k8 J# p+ b-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
7 n$ ]: T, }0 a: C-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
1 p5 U+ g; H+ N. j% e-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


Assets:
; j* b' i" K$ I& c, X! Y-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
$ j# n$ k1 @/ T6 p7 |+ d-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required

Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
