( l5 N" {6 o2 g9 Y! S( ]8 o- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth( ?0 Y4 h. K& q. G
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling- _ t- x4 r7 s v( A
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
- z3 I2 k! S5 p0 \0 Q: K- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs3 d3 r8 x/ k6 c- e/ M
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
& T# P4 M: K! r1 c3 D1 R- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences. ]# t# ^: C( J3 s. W2 ]4 [- ~! F
- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement1 q# s/ A& j/ `, u
- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others% r. K* g9 t1 }
- Experience doing program development0 C: P% M0 H7 \0 h; ]1 B, {
- Strong organizational and coordination skills6 P9 a! S1 b _3 }/ s/ |
- Self-directed and able to take initiative
6 `! N8 W8 B( a8 G/ A- L( [6 G1 x0 W$ m- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset- L5 j$ D& o9 i; `% o$ S/ `, n- X1 U
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
+ W% D3 }6 m+ Y" f/ M, @- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
- N, u; |$ `, h3 ^. n1 ]4 Y- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health7 H4 `1 T3 w5 m, j c# e3 [
- Skills in marketing & promotions% H( n/ v2 e3 U. |% s6 \
- Some evening and weekend work may be required
