Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
! C' L% z7 O  U* D7 r; `Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
3 A; H3 W, N* E1 r7 MIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
& N! I( \: G) K# U! t7 F' D. l. uParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
' u, l7 I1 c1 {9 R" A2 \. \  BQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
; z! s+ x; _7 x4 N+ A; {2 N4 V' [Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
, E- L% Q9 j. D6 AComputer skills an asset.
An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
