Responsibilities
/ R) t+ i* b0 q, W# b8 w3 J3 B! DAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
9 D& V9 \. n) G' ]7 y0 IWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
  B0 x- C( b7 C  qMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
# E7 Q# X* X: n6 j/ _" KIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
8 x, w/ c; b' rParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
* U: v) i: M; \* l6 Y* [Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
3 w4 h: Z2 {  l1 Q; N2 UMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
9 P# j$ N% a% y# c8 v" c) P, L) r/ rComputer skills an asset.
: }. j8 h, L1 k6 IAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
