Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
+ T' e  m" j- h( }) UMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
" Y, s4 y; b% h/ ^6 f9 a1 ZQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
/ `; Z4 f4 b% i" BMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
# z9 }/ s+ H4 z- LComputer skills an asset.
# ]! s) ]# g6 Z) X: s; T# hAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
# U) ?. O5 g( `8 _! tProficiency in a second language is an asset.
