Position Summary:
4 ^( G: v/ }8 CThe IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.- {# Z& @3 z8 g" S3 z+ J

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers$ V- v* L% H' C+ `% i- n/ K
§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution , p8 f( a+ _! h5 i) F8 N; w
§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation# w" K, r6 p4 L, [1 e* g
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times' h9 r! c5 O; t9 ~
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk) [* Q0 {' S- g5 C
§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience( [& h0 n4 b, w* _

§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software
: H; I1 g& M: d+ P) o§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems

0 \) V( c# ^4 Z' x+ [6 l! @# H, c; wThe IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).

§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation- g$ j* T# a) a! D6 i
§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to
( ^5 ~6 }$ s6 I" y4 M. \4 T9 J§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times. H1 \! s( s- ^3 h( i1 X
§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access

§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan

§ Implementation and support of small systems technology initiatives in conjunction with SYSCO Canada IT
