execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
% o7 K e. x; `8 U, h6 c# ?the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by # w' N w! d2 H: b9 y: U
the Board of Directors; $ ^( z- N7 W4 [7 [) u" `9 L2 V
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
( G9 Z+ N7 X1 l4 oincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to . P4 M6 r0 [9 o" ~# y- @2 m
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 0 y$ m& Q* t* Z2 c/ c/ u3 F3 F! @ I
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ( X2 B" q- a6 s* @. s/ q
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion & m$ ?1 W1 V, L) y: p3 c
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; $ X: x/ s2 g( Q# Y9 V4 Y9 t4 f
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the + L% j6 O+ U7 u& Y) _3 S' L
changing needs of the organization and community; 4 e5 c5 J& e6 `8 h/ u' m
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
& _, Y4 ~8 Y! v2 g& M. X6 E; D, icommitments; 4 ^9 t! s# M6 {/ R z1 ~7 J6 ~( t6 u
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ; _( I; Y& _% g5 P
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective + w& U6 f' w6 |; F0 e+ ~: P! d
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
4 h( P4 H3 H; H4 X" t" K• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 |! K* s5 x% ]3 i: b D6 W
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; + Y$ T5 E# K+ X0 D7 I/ S& h
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 1 k0 O. P; L+ ]8 ], D- |' J% a
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ! H2 t- ]' {. i. N6 m- t
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;

) a0 H5 C. H6 d( i: q+ b. s. r• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 3 z0 `! }& W! r1 E7 M

Required Experience 0 c; h# Q/ \( R$ ~
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
' T0 ^& N0 W. g• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ; S* O" A: v& b" N! [ v. d: h
abilities; 5 g$ [% Q. l4 @" h6 K
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
" F( c. @! N: @7 b) DNetworking and Fundraising;
7 I. D% n" T4 c8 C& T• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
