Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 4 R0 e; S5 N0 X3 K; [
execution of the YWCA Strategy 8 a/ d5 H( J# W

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 2 P& t( H Z# T+ h* \
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by % [0 F- I: S9 v/ Z+ I
the Board of Directors; 0 k. y4 j# V* i4 R+ T B
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations $ E% s L9 l5 d X! P& C1 ?. M5 ]5 q
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
7 L# S f9 G- a4 y2 Kenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ( i2 G& z, H! w' m/ Y. |$ ~, Y
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
* S3 T3 p4 y* iobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
( P/ Z, a6 T0 i- i% d; z. {& G' {9 Kthe board;
9 K+ ^& n/ ]7 S; O" f• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
2 I4 f G6 G9 A9 q( X/ o• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
" A F. c$ i/ d) T* N( G9 othe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
; @+ f: x; O) S6 V8 I8 u4 L• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
) v5 Z2 c3 P" E4 B" ychanging needs of the organization and community;
9 j: `& D W/ @# e1 O# F ~• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 2 M0 N- Z9 U' U% O

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; # d s: C; _# D' \5 b% W
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
/ `' t t" K* q/ x- E7 aselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ; B8 M2 s& ^' i; j% ?; H1 l
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 2 j5 Z! E K, ?" S+ S7 L+ ^, j
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
! \4 v1 \$ u% Q3 ]; ^3 \4 W% Geffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
% |, L/ _1 T; H2 `8 ]- m3 Tthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 1 a+ N! ?4 }& @: [9 X
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal - u7 k( P) ~: Q. M- P1 k" h: L1 P: r4 t
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
& \2 M3 y$ o* D4 C3 dpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of - ]4 b/ G9 g: q

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification

Required Experience
3 m8 u$ ^+ Q# n ?1 c• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; * {+ v! u7 n t; f( t$ {: e
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
+ M( g, \: B% ]" f( N# ?. M% Oabilities; `2 Q9 N' F# o3 B' k) e& C8 _
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 0 U8 V( ?! f7 j0 H9 J
Networking and Fundraising;
: g; X0 [4 B3 p; J2 D# a• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 8 W* q F/ s l: @. _; h, M, Y) b
