He began work with our Union in 1981, receiving Inter-provincial Journeyman Electrician status the following year — and in 1988 he also became a Journeyman Boom Truck Operator.

' P+ w; t3 y9 ^) t; ?, ?) JWhile on the job and with a young family he continued his education in night courses, graduating from the U of A in 2001 with a degree in Human Resources Management. In 2003, following two additional years of study, he was designated a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).
