9 {7 H; e2 q. R- ` Primary purpose: The Social Worker works in partnership with settlement workers or

Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services.
# N% x, e# Q1 }% A3 l& T2 A7 EThe position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
( ~) R) c& {' \+ T6 ^ }8 A& @newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
p4 L; `6 Q+ FWorker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as ! A4 @, H" M/ V6 T
needed. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for - e1 L, Z: {, j; `" L/ W
newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
4 b' X& b {# h# W. F- K0 ?' tassessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-: L! o) h- }" y* D8 w- m
centered delivery model.

Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental 9 o; D% q) p$ e% F; E

Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers. 9 W2 j; A2 s' A

Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and
7 d6 I: `+ s) p0 ~experience in Social Work or related human service fields. 9 J& Q' \. @- {, j$ E) W
Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family 1 A0 c9 M1 s8 U6 }! i7 N2 s. B; a
support needs l/ c9 u2 d8 a; {* _0 N
Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications ; q2 s1 ?( W6 |! _+ X/ W1 c$ n
Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages ; h5 b$ C* t/ ^3 e
Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate 9 Y% Z4 c* L( \) F& u( E7 `
insurance coverage for work
