community cultural brokers from New Canadian Health Network partner organizations to

' f1 a; ?7 U4 D2 b$ H Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services.
- A/ E, U5 h& P6 H& k/ P5 mThe position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
+ b" g, `- X8 ?( inewcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
4 \' N7 V/ R6 n% _+ C' SWorker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
3 X, K+ ~* u, ^+ c1 ?9 K7 Rneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for 8 W% h% Y* v# a' Z+ s0 M
newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
4 \9 z% S8 w! M6 V! W0 U" Kassessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-/ {/ f6 \) U- Y( k: j
centered delivery model.

within the city of Edmonton and New Canadian Health Network partners.
+ a5 ~: B4 t* V4 D* { Providing holistic information or advocacy services for immigrants and refugees served. ! t9 d) B6 R8 U. U4 C% C& d6 u$ P. D
Developing of social networks and community supports for newcomer families.

Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental ) V5 ^4 X; P9 G, g% E/ p, w
case plan support for clients who have complex needs.
% v, D- y M) p Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers.

Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and : `! V7 n! `: M3 \; b
experience in Social Work or related human service fields.

Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications 4 o5 z; v& | g+ S7 F; d
Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages 3 {3 p8 H1 C* |. M
Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate 0 H5 X4 z- t' U' ?, p
insurance coverage for work
