As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

Enterprise Data
- d2 {3 Q4 [. m  R% g. H& [1 J* j# \• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
5 v" Z  T. b) ]2 U, P2 {• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

( a5 U/ h! `$ m• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
- {# Z& Z3 Q6 R9 }• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
- G* _, i5 F$ X1 p& l5 s. z9 x• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
2 [4 C* B7 |' h3 r/ Z* L6 N, n9 O% @% Y• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
( S. J8 D6 H4 L# y• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
7 g' i: i( b8 s• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
  r2 B' N4 P/ q. _# [# c• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
1 H! }/ T8 c0 X, O7 y$ Y• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
3 f4 w% `( f7 H• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
/ A# {$ Y) W* o4 ^% V( f• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
6 g/ r. x8 M: s2 P9 O• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
