As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

) p% I8 g& t& D1 m• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

7 y2 `( C9 c; _0 ~7 C* |) e0 U% {6 B• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
0 i! P* G; g# [* o3 M• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
6 H7 _+ E! B* V+ g* ]0 W# r1 e• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
' G7 d2 R  N3 x• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
; h+ E8 ^) r$ l8 V$ S• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
( D2 x( l1 ~/ m. o) `4 E• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
. x% p  ?# E5 _• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
* h0 f, s. J6 v6 ]9 b* t7 Z• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
: u1 |- L- \& g, m• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
8 F3 q) p* E# O7 [0 w- ^' f& q2 ?• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
8 G! e9 M! U" q' n• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
; W! [9 F. P% O" u" K• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
