Essential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.+ p- \' e* u2 i) u( L1 d

Recruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.' s0 y3 I7 |( W

Training – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.

" {; M# H6 ], q. v2 v" eOrganize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.* T) p/ A9 U5 Y' Z7 `
# t d+ M( L. c1 a O+ O& D$ d. |0 `Networking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.

Professional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position. g! f6 j/ L" V; ]5 {7 _7 O: @

Proposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators. ; b7 p& B4 g/ M) M0 Q5 g
, v$ l/ c3 j mProject Evaluation & Reports – submit timely monthly, quarterly, annual reports and include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model.
