Key Responsibilities & Duties:

6 ~2 y$ ?; R- O- p Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
8 H; p+ |# b2 t2 P- `! M Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
* [2 [4 o( L" T- Y4 M Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
# `" g% H) @+ U7 c- Y; f8 _  c Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
; `- j3 Y' p: v0 l) s Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
) g+ o  i3 J( S1 w, Q; x; W! Y Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
/ p3 n$ v( y3 z) W Knowledge of community resources.
  i7 e4 W0 F; b7 N* p Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
& e4 z$ u; f! f. m+ tThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
