Key Responsibilities & Duties:

$ Z2 Y4 L& ^3 ]9 B6 [- h Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
+ B+ a& E4 \0 i( v/ Y Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
9 _4 @% }2 [( X" A+ V6 e2 H9 p Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
; I0 `; N' f, J+ W( b" }; H2 ^0 | Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
. W0 z( c7 e) k  x! t, B5 }% X Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
' k  V, n2 k4 t4 R2 d  Q& w Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
  h5 w# q: _1 T% }. t Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
0 f2 ]1 o5 N& r. {7 N3 j" }1 Z Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
  Y: f/ h8 }& o1 y- Y9 Y$ n Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
