Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
' s  S* L5 Z& ? Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
$ k" j; t9 E% w Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
4 T/ }! }8 g2 a! H( V Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
! @# \6 T0 y% S Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
/ `! D0 C+ F# Y6 @ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
/ A. V( U" Z- |# I  \( L" Z* T, N Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
1 N: l& M6 g; A- _% y/ @- t1 H Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
+ f. T7 e+ Z+ ?8 } Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
+ B, r& P9 n# [) l3 x# R2 ~ Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

, @& `+ d% A6 h( _( B/ L" K2 mThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
