Key Responsibilities & Duties:

; k1 w. k9 ^: |! I. m0 ~5 R: j/ M Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
( M. t6 N( d9 } Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
" s# B; |+ J. m, n- C/ l Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
5 ]  }# t4 i) d0 O. I Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
. U$ b" h$ J- b+ r! l Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
4 G7 B& x( K3 [5 n6 S2 d8 I; d# U Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
: h) w% W/ A& k% a& Q: T Knowledge of community resources.
* r: f/ l5 M, M6 n  r8 U Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
* e. h3 e6 T7 | Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
