An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:& r* v/ V }2 `8 W' t2 F
• Process research equipment design;' b! T, i8 [) m4 {
• Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;, V+ R: N+ }7 p% L$ W: u/ \' K
• Equipment fabrication guidance;
W8 T) L2 l* }4 l• Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation; r& U( G N1 s g
• Others.

Qualifications:8 }5 B( ?& v# E) P+ X
• Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months. ( O4 f4 i1 t' T
• Equipment design experience is required;
: r) v! d7 X% {8 E- f• Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;1 h3 B, k: i( u! H& t1 `3 H. n
• Familiar with CAD software;% F9 L$ e) j0 j' c
• Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
8 _5 G- t. l7 X+ U( W# z0 s• Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.! {9 l( c) a. o0 H0 p' p# w! r
' d0 y! p7 Z7 y% L* {* \; x- f5 RCompensation:- w5 e% h! E* g$ L
Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term. . R4 l; `. X! t. Z
