The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.6 P p$ j N5 Z a; d- _/ I
+ V9 I8 q, |- l* L" P! q+ mThis is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

OPERATIONS
" V6 X: f I% L7 i2 H" L• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.( ~; _1 r1 c# w7 V7 C5 V8 Y6 I
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.! g' Z* c5 o- t- k/ M7 W
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge9 o$ z! |" j$ a7 R0 x6 P6 K* e
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
' V8 |1 R& {. Z- Y• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.8 i# B+ ]( w; g/ [
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
' k* O9 j( X) _/ H4 Q# ^• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.; g! k {$ ^4 |( N0 ]
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities; p% M, p6 }3 X C- f/ n& h, V
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
2 g( D L A' v. z• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position2 C3 g$ u0 l" p4 g1 _/ H
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
: E! ^8 ^3 L/ {• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate- R! s* R0 K4 ?# [% i& u
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
: T" s4 r$ _" m0 H• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
# Q5 Q' ? G! |2 @• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
% W+ z& ^' H9 ?& a0 M• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
$ _& w' {( M2 D! D( Q• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes# X8 t! h5 w3 R) H

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
4 x r7 a4 w z, x6 U+ ]• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required# v* @7 e. l# Y& p* f. K

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS1 L' C* j# d9 g7 r" t5 K
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers& L& _$ a# S5 @
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
9 ?0 U2 I3 ^5 Q& f• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 0 C2 \5 `' u: K! K
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

9 f! @& w" B! R# J* t5 Z/ H• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination0 ]" [# h* e( i8 s
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
; [" g) l) O% }2 w• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills/ `0 H" f) o1 O; g& e1 k% n. N8 D! O
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
5 v9 C' D x5 z• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
5 T% f5 t! A" ?6 \6 s• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
