The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.% L8 l) }9 c; M6 X/ W& W

Job Responsibilities:0 D7 m0 M* n  S* I& ^3 t8 I7 f

4 p; i- s; X3 f- D; \9 FOPERATIONS
! w1 f2 i( I' ^6 G3 N: M•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
2 z- H" d6 q; ~, G•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.4 x. x$ F) r( M# [( m1 b* e
•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
+ a& W3 ]3 Z( B8 l# }•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
5 k6 f6 T! h) W0 g# ^" Z! {•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.! Z! Y: E. h) _
•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
2 x; o6 h" z" x•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.! q* D8 ?6 m: Y
•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities7 H5 c2 d. W2 D9 d
•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required4 J' s! q- ?1 w8 l7 J( h
+ M7 j( b/ K$ ^* f2 K. n2 w$ v8 R- _) k
SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
% p$ K  P* b4 l•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
' Z0 J+ c( \: U+ J8 b, y•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up# v" y. e& `+ t  L7 u* b2 Q& C
& C5 ]/ a0 R% ]
ADMINISTRATION' O4 {, s" @+ G, k; x, L
•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
; b3 B/ ]% ^$ A& l/ {# E* n•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
; `' u6 y8 f( Y$ s•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate% o; Y! j0 N/ l# n
•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
/ _% G# s2 q4 K! b2 F•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required % q, i! Q$ n# |7 L, N
•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency* ]6 {3 @7 H4 r' ]# ^) p
•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
! j7 M, |- D; `7 u7 b•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes2 m- p0 ?6 f3 u& q% R$ P( B
•        Prepare a regular monthly program report. u5 k1 S9 C. x, j

FINANCE
4 U8 ]7 l" \) N& ~) @•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
+ h, N6 f3 z1 o& C•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required
" F# B/ n* I, ^/ v- f, P
& K; E' i/ x6 s; [# [3 q6 F  y/ e0 MINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
! U  @, j4 ^6 q) T$ ~•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
) y+ [( N" J0 Q( r1 [•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
$ e  b0 W, w& _4 K3 f3 Y; N1 Z•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
) c% ]3 @1 Z0 w5 i•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:
; I8 K4 u" n* V) B9 K* l' [3 Z0 v1 n* l# c& [5 R
•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination* c) J: O: {& ^- o- W
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability- H/ U' f5 b" C) p; t  S8 {6 ~
•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills4 i5 d: U, q4 W% q5 n( A
•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
; ~% G1 l( F9 b. Y•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
9 O/ Z( S0 i, V•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
) Z$ W. F2 S. B! B9 |8 v+ e•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
" n) A# Z: p1 P/ L•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial : v( ~; }; v  W1 m  m: E/ h* R9 h
