The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

3 K: j. M$ _6 A• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
/ ]5 Z5 U# G/ S& P* O3 \" Q• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
7 g9 D: i9 u( Z, D• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge2 |! ^9 C) _+ t. n
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
% P+ a; F& N7 b• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
0 ?# O J3 u+ n/ m6 }# D/ T• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.0 n! H7 W+ I. _0 M- u% y
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
. y7 y4 x) j: |6 @3 g. D• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities) I+ G: p5 l$ w( b8 s
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required6 t7 [' {9 G9 p

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
9 c) O m% ^( J* Z' z: d# N3 _• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
. c$ q8 m6 p2 o p p7 j• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation; N1 C4 x, Y R/ A9 {6 b3 }* }
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate1 s# m3 J7 ?7 y5 x7 F+ X8 ]
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
7 X. U# m s) y7 Z4 t) u. s U! @• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
( h+ i( `" r8 f. r' _9 ^9 B• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances% x9 s% }+ j* E. ] e* F7 v# [
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required- a0 [$ ]7 a. W4 k8 c
) i2 }# H4 Y: h( Y9 F( D. H- [INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS3 g- P% \$ r( l
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers; d! g: n/ j9 e! m% A$ ^9 M0 R
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)3 m, v! y7 z; S- g) T- O
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate

7 @7 [# \3 P \4 h+ S e• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
9 I' U& M) _( G1 I K• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability9 k; u0 z1 U" S) V
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
- a( I ~2 }4 C Q• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills ' i1 ~& r( ~. g/ ~
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
6 J% t- ]9 ~1 N5 w; M4 ?" g• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
