The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:9 F+ ^* q8 p# y* R: E  u5 N

# x9 P3 t6 d- X* c3 NOPERATIONS
* r( s5 K+ N0 s4 k5 C6 O) b•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.* l  X( o7 F5 ?! m2 E
•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services., \1 w( `" c4 Y4 o4 @: T
•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge: m) g+ }( y6 D# ~  D& H
•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.% K9 A4 E0 D6 {
•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
9 e# _( |  Q( Y( P9 m' I& Q•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.4 v/ a, d& d. C7 F$ x7 e& S
•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.. ~, P6 T* c* {
•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities5 i& N, x6 t; T. L
•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
' U8 f/ l8 g. e7 }•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up
9 e  }$ K3 ]. I: x6 [. }3 L4 p- Y# }1 S3 U/ K3 \! F/ e
ADMINISTRATION
2 L$ B7 i" `7 }& P, t" j' g. N: t•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position: Z: I% s' r( _" Z7 g
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation$ H( T- I: \! \! S) f, q# t' v
•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
1 K, z4 D) O& o+ r9 L•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department: Y. T' S" U' s" D! o. b1 I# G9 _1 T2 E
•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
6 l/ o. k& `# t: {/ o/ G8 A•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency& E  [$ s; }% V
•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services2 }9 d) V" X& f; {8 @7 |$ U9 I
•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes
9 F/ n$ ~# P( u% i" e2 @•        Prepare a regular monthly program report

FINANCE
1 i2 L0 d/ e5 j% A" i; l  K•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
; N4 Q; m8 }% l( x, @•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required3 K' h% K" e# q1 O2 l' P( O

  j, t: G+ W1 A8 y2 c* h$ P  T- f3 uINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS' f' J, }: @* p" O& ~7 E; X
•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers) V4 |) ]% o8 h4 E) s
•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)1 j0 X' ?- d4 @9 R4 W' c
•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 4 Q/ x, H; D. r2 J
•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required5 V/ X! a% ~9 ~4 F: N

7 |$ X$ j+ I( Z
+ o2 @$ ]% A7 G" X9 X/ v( T•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
' y8 a6 s# O& u8 l, U1 |! j5 @•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability9 ^; `6 r0 f% o% F' X0 ~
•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
; p, L4 C( F0 V7 s# P•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 2 m" |2 b2 j6 k! {; s
•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure3 C4 |  y7 G# ^, ]" O
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 5 v) j; L/ e9 r0 b0 ?  N2 T  x
•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
, K3 R9 I) t7 D& s•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial 3 j" O" A1 z# v( O1 Z
