The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA., r9 J: h$ V0 t) a5 w

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.1 }" v# L x9 Q$ N3 ]6 K

' G) l. g! \8 H+ ZOPERATIONS/ K+ t- \! Z5 M- T* X
• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
( x0 s1 L u& z! J% P2 v# j7 C• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.& Z8 U! b( k3 C6 J- x
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
. p& A, f& M- ~4 b1 U• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.3 X% M0 H) N5 y9 X5 Y+ L+ B- g" z
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
% ^; x: Y3 j {, Z8 z8 k6 c• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
$ O, F2 a: d( P2 Z• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.0 ]1 J# v4 `) C% k1 y, b
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
3 C0 J+ R& F0 ]7 }: s* Z# E• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO5 g* t g: B% |$ y: ]# \* ~
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

! z9 K0 w$ E; D/ T4 SADMINISTRATION
2 w! e7 [8 [5 f( F2 q• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position. a- I2 _ n+ ~2 N4 w# X! l
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
a6 A* t7 `; T+ w• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
" s8 z, [/ I. w3 U• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
! r* t# s5 D7 O0 _% o# r• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required - _! V& ~: I: F2 K& I# J8 `! |# ?
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
* y+ H) C# n5 ?, I• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances+ i% f# U: T2 X+ n
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required9 X2 i4 @9 Y$ l
6 C% Q) i" A! n; o4 eINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS6 U, T& b; Q& X& F5 p
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
) Q) ^5 ?6 T; f$ c: Q) P# ~' R• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta): ?2 x# K' M/ m+ u$ j* j9 |" j0 u
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate / ~0 \, O; H5 I3 K2 A+ {
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required, s! e* @# T1 {9 J, s
. M, P0 N- w5 C# k5 {$ ?& _Qualifications:3 v: J- r" L: Q5 U
" V( y! |- y' B; Y% B8 I• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination; N7 U8 x2 s& K* F6 ~5 n: P
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability5 Y! _) B: q8 {8 `% C# J' z6 Q
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
$ R8 `. u; F/ z8 ~/ x, a• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
7 g' ?0 w% Q. X• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
l# e" j" d4 S$ i0 n& D• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
