Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
! ?7 p: d  Z( q9 u2 L0 F Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
. I$ P/ U. i% Y& I3 N# e Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
2 U8 G' M. z: M5 w9 h6 ]' Q3 B4 } Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
' I# y  q! b7 u( Z# @* ?7 j2 D! m1 ? Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
, W7 U) P6 E0 L6 d
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
3 D1 B$ \& \: B! \- ~; C$ | Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
2 I% ~. v4 z+ Z: z, b& Istarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
