Key Responsibilities & Duties:

# q: N& `* e: p Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
- C7 ^$ u2 s& Z9 X Completing required paperwork.
( N3 U; f" n% E4 | Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
7 r) N! [6 Y& L& G/ J' ]. B2 P Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
$ ~' F( {. V# d! L Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

. d9 X+ b' N0 i% h Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
0 i. V1 J$ n2 v) A/ P Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ ^! A! u! X* h7 o Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
; ^, k% }8 S! Q3 H; _. z Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
4 ?! N) m% J5 U# w' W Knowledge of community resources.
1 t8 Q# V# ]- s0 {. O9 v/ [  e Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
* l6 N0 D, F+ x  j, P3 D Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
# {: @5 e0 C5 P2 A( EThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
+ U& p1 f, @* i# R' }$ |: l0 Fstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
