Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
) {4 F+ `1 ?' w2 q6 [2 ? Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
/ |2 \% B; C& j3 O3 }' q: u Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
% H# H( E% ]! ^4 n9 z Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
. v& f' b4 m1 I Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
  S5 r4 v. y) `! ^2 v Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
/ {/ l0 |$ @% [' O% |7 @# `
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
& C3 j1 W9 e* v: ]2 W Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
& g# c0 f% A% u) Q( p Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
, y" f5 `$ a! b Knowledge of community resources.
8 _) e" D3 s$ B" K) o  x1 T6 Z Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
