Key Responsibilities & Duties:

, z% h9 J4 J; R' L: v$ D% \ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
" @% D4 R; U! K5 t0 A! q4 @$ r Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
4 j) o: B1 v% }) E W' { Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.$ z3 M6 l) |. a% o6 I; q+ ~
 Completing required paperwork.! _5 Z' l+ o; d+ u) a. Z) H. k1 r
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.. M! s8 c' e7 R r- a% k
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
, I: D4 {0 {7 P: g: C Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. 9 z9 S( S* u% z- x
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.' B9 ~8 f! t8 @( T
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.! I7 g1 D0 q! w# a6 N
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
2 k) O0 O) X5 s) m Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
( g( N+ R1 \3 ]! R$ t, B6 h Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.5 N9 o+ C+ Z @/ T# n- _. b
 Knowledge of community resources.
: n7 \" Q* o* K0 v Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
8 }2 S, `5 l. |7 ^$ F$ e8 |- ?% ]- K Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. & A& O9 C& d N& t5 n

Position:& h8 W% c. {9 G* R/ O
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
