Administration officials have long argued that there is no evidence school speed zones reduce the danger for children. k' m0 T( J) B+ ?& t$ e
3 O. @) Z3 \1 t1 X( k1 D& e. c# D"This is simply adding it to our set of solutions," Rick Millican, general manager of transportation, said. "Council is not saying if they approve it, put a school zone everywhere someone wants on.

The city hasn't used reduced speed limits around schools for more than 20 years.
