City council is considering putting 30-kilometre-an-hour zones around some schools, after pressure from parents.

Administration officials have long argued that there is no evidence school speed zones reduce the danger for children.9 y* z( Y5 K8 U

"This is simply adding it to our set of solutions," Rick Millican, general manager of transportation, said. "Council is not saying if they approve it, put a school zone everywhere someone wants on.! z! y. q E% Z" J, g, p

Patricia Grell, with the Woodcroft area school council, says every school and playground should have lower speed limits.
