( ^1 @6 @9 L, ]Reporting to the Administrator of Information Technology Services (ITS), and working collaboratively with the other members of the unit, the Web Application Developer provides application development support to ensure viable and effective solutions to the business needs of units within the Human Resources portfolio.* M; e. Q+ @3 f3 w. v- o) V& \6 i% _
Develops web-based applications in support of the business needs of units within the portfolio
6 E0 e0 x) z/ K6 GDesigns, maintains, and optimizes relational databases used by web-based applications: n/ ?" S, [% T- h: u
Provides ongoing support, training and documentation for applications developed in-house( ~5 n: v7 J. e( k
Participates in needs assessments, project management, and software evaluations
6 X1 B/ v3 z( g1 ^* ^5 b, SProvides creative design for new and existing websites, including graphics and the development of templates to be used with the HR Content Management System (CMS)
; o' W U) ?# p DMonitors websites and coordinates with the appropriate individuals and groups to ensure that content is accurate, up-to-date and highly organized2 e6 k/ L/ z8 N. N
Assists in the development of policies and procedures to provide clear direction for users of the CMS

The successful candidate will be required to pursue a consistent program of professional development to maintain technical expertise.
9 N6 H" b( N4 D9 bTwo year technical diploma in computer science with a focus on web-based design and database development' Q! [' M" a" W O
Minimum 3 years experience developing dynamic web-based applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, XML
. L- D( G$ |% S1 M K' z2 bDemonstrated experience with database development and optimization using MS Access and SQL Server 2000
! M: a0 `2 {7 a6 R) x: kExperience administering IIS and working knowledge of Windows Server environment; experience developing with SharePoint Services and SQL Reporting Services an asset
5 U9 R% O) Z1 H3 V7 b7 G0 iProficiency developing web graphics with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; proficiency using Macromedia Flash an asset
