Delivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
4 \0 o; u% Z& R' h" wObtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments
) c0 {/ K1 i, B0 k' hEnsures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound
4 L* h  g% F) I6 qPrioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead
Operates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions
! |- {) G1 `$ zPerforms related duties as required
Qualifications
& e2 m  Y, d! w' @! F- q! \8 o- uValid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.
2 ~/ P/ g1 [4 Y( [High School diploma; previous driving experience required
Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification
Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials
Ability to operate equipment including forklift, power-jack, pallet-jack, Johnson bar
Forklift operating certificate
