Duties
. u' |6 _! s' ]+ I: jDelivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
9 a+ l) \+ j7 O' YObtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments
! M) f% D( C, @5 |3 JEnsures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound
" |+ n2 |# K; l1 z% ]Prioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead
( l$ y8 M2 }" M& b5 N1 dOperates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions" z+ a; O- H; t
Performs related duties as required

Valid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.. O; C% k9 }. q& Z

Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification3 @9 J- X- r; x: J) U6 X
Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials7 ?' u g$ z5 ~* B
Ability to operate equipment including forklift, power-jack, pallet-jack, Johnson bar
