' n( ^- H2 |( \5 c7 U7 M Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
/ L7 n; J5 ^, {4 i8 r Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
# `+ x8 ?" B) |" ], {1 i Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
$ R# \( w5 j0 C7 c4 M- P Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
! P% J3 O4 X) y- {, O! I Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

5 k1 k; v; m: e; c4 [: Y3 L: s2 I' F Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
% C/ n9 S& s# _% e Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
0 M1 p/ K& I# t+ _ Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
  Y( y; N4 d. [3 N Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
/ B3 ]- b6 p* Q5 {! l2 p4 M Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
+ W$ S: L: j, q Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
