Responsibilities
  `9 |8 C+ k" U8 _' l4 z Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
+ }3 Q$ c4 y$ q$ B% N9 {0 o Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
# j% W# F: V, }+ z3 n0 m Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
' _: j% c/ s- w) Y! N9 g Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
9 K" `# T1 i( M) E Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

8 }" }! k0 G' @ Social work degree or diploma
- g! r0 `, Q1 K. N+ x Current RSW designation preferred   
" R: q( v! |6 A2 B% G Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
5 X8 E1 [) p2 j9 r$ z1 b Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
5 N$ r7 U  ^4 T' i Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
