Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
8 |4 X3 M/ U: P( p. F1 O Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
8 e, w9 |: v8 b. g- F1 [- ^7 ~ Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
2 U+ r$ }  ]$ m Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
# s. l8 _5 _+ \. H Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
  ^& ?0 t$ n8 B( l# L" Y9 o! }' \ Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
2 ~% x, _4 x1 D- Y. g& f8 [0 ]' n Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- L% o0 @$ _( h! `- N Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
