Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
- j4 K3 w& }! `* n7 V Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
5 k$ H& r% _. I5 ^& z' f Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
6 N5 I& g' r& X) W Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
# v& l$ c$ J: v4 F5 m8 j Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

' `, k2 A: P* \, g# }: h Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
1 @9 {7 ~2 E8 Y! ^0 d Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
! Y" @& C- O3 P) f1 p% N- W& w' H Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
