Responsibilities
8 ^  b; M- _% O; K2 d" u Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
$ G. t$ n5 X3 q- a3 h: C Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
* N4 N. m! D9 y Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
- g% R. E9 y/ b% i% ]: O Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
/ V( |- N; m+ I8 k- g2 y Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
2 h& X( ?8 Q' T3 y. m& r! ` Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

9 ?6 g2 u, ~+ b- J0 }+ J Social work degree or diploma
" e' I5 ^4 c" W8 b/ L6 n Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
