 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.

 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.
+ ^3 x3 C8 o" r9 D( M Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.

 Update and maintain job boards.

 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.

 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

; M3 p3 i  _1 ^$ Y# q* D Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
/ l& h% l4 e( O% T- B6 x! s Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.8 _: w' d1 O$ |/ X  q2 I( Y8 [
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary., k# ]/ ~' e1 y4 g& n4 k. u  i
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.

 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.
, I5 I, C7 b: n! o" @, f5 t Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
3 N0 }2 h' i1 {% w( q+ u Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan6 t& G8 R" o- }5 @% s# L' U; B
 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
7 g0 W5 i. i' \3 T$ F Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada; F/ I3 [3 Q1 r9 V8 u& `
 Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants

5 V7 d2 I2 j$ a, o7 p Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
