Job Description
* o# o+ ?; _( V* g- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information' E! p' t, ?, @4 p4 I0 Z
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
4 I( E7 a( U' j0 _' ?- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP) X. Q: D5 w8 z+ o
- provide support to ISP staff8 V+ L# X8 ^& L' L4 L" K
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
# Z7 }2 V7 s+ ?: W- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
5 u* v! U% l, c1 x, z. ~' p- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated6 M8 C5 s1 ^5 ^3 l) T9 l
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
& q+ h1 t- L- ~4 Z1 ~$ y- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals' [3 S( M5 T/ B5 }/ l @$ U* W5 Z
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder8 }. D, H2 j- F2 B8 j0 b9 f7 \9 l
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.4 V l2 `# T6 [( ]
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
! k" Y8 S" Y* K2 O3 Q- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned, U5 H( x% `% ] ]4 ^( M I1 ]
- other duties as assigned 7 ~, l) b( `( C

- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
2 ]9 ~+ q" w, b$ A6 q, ^ H) m( D- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
3 `$ g- y) M$ a/ ^3 ?! D1 s- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers/ b$ r3 y* u4 d* e Y4 Q
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software4 t& j7 S. S6 u
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred), ^$ \+ o. w2 ^9 s
- good interpersonal and people skills
+ t# K( S! G" `0 w- g& U$ o1 t- good organizational and coordination skills
