Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description
) r9 B# k! j1 y* Y6 e' k) T- k; l1 l- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
, M+ x7 ]: F! X, ]% B& S- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
$ D# E, B- V, V& E' `# C- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
! a4 z: i7 g% m- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
9 h9 e% C$ `% V! R2 ?- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
0 h0 s" A# n. d# q" }7 z8 N- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
9 E/ p; }% J8 }2 L$ O' m- other duties as assigned

7 A  N# Z- `" E0 yQualifications
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
, q1 b# m& K, @) q, S- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
/ f8 E* }5 u, }3 f1 W2 y- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
1 t7 i  j! Q9 Q/ W8 f- good interpersonal and people skills
" z5 @* q1 w5 t9 g# M- good organizational and coordination skills
- valid driver’s license

Other
- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense
