SEDI is staffed to:

• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners : F9 s) Q" D% X0 V6 ?* h9 g( b5 n
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
+ A! A Y9 g* F8 c0 w• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs / O, s7 l9 Y3 ~7 ~1 o/ c1 Z m
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 8 Q* v2 [5 R& S) J" F
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

& q( X, r1 B6 O" wPrimary Responsibilities and Activities: - G3 k& |7 B( P/ Y
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 4 ~& b1 ~0 O* t f7 L0 x ~ ^ A7 _
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) E5 y* I1 C: i. |, D9 r* m
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 8 e- @0 @" T5 @6 S8 z, Q8 ? @
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 0 i* n2 J1 C* H! H0 ~4 v
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
$ _1 ?3 o4 e% s6 B' K• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 8 C- I3 s7 ?, K* i: W% ~2 j( V
Other Activities:$ }& _: `! s( E( k
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 2 H( l; {8 Z0 P4 e) n
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
z) w& w* c" Z/ z. D1 l9 z |• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting 3 c! y! @$ s( S7 r+ J+ m8 s
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 5 b+ Z# z7 k& K" D3 B, n- }
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning " F |6 \6 m8 _4 v0 ^
Primary Qualifications:
7 A; \" G/ G1 _# h7 I• Demonstrated group facilitation experience : g g* `7 Y" V* F/ \7 Y5 Y9 D+ P& R1 o
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media 8 J2 j" H* ^( E5 S' B: p3 K" n: D
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training ( ~$ E: d& i: ]' f5 `* k5 }/ |
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
3 p) q! V* F* O u, ~& z) R• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 9 d, n+ v+ ^ S+ I8 z6 }
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc . B7 n6 |0 P, s" }7 S4 t: q) ?* t- ^
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education 4 B5 X P) h% t7 l8 N6 k- a0 V9 ?
• Content / curriculum development experience * b+ c3 V; f& {9 v# S
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
" u. H5 f& {; I0 r2 W• Excellent organizational skills ( B6 I/ n7 T: O# _
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. 5 m$ O! H) N$ g! J
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
