YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

- k; z) x8 z* ^* {9 {& N+ g! OPayroll:
) T! o. p$ g: J# P9 W• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
1 ?5 r2 z& H0 ~- g: i• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
+ K7 t& g) v/ k! e# P- L! y4 F# U• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records ( J( _$ b3 ^) a0 W1 d
• Input benefit deductions into payroll1 Y' Y) D( [. Q+ ~8 z0 K: r

Reporting duties:
* v' l' u4 \5 ], [7 m! _; F8 P) G; v• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider0 g/ g" v- Y0 g/ _ a. p
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
& p7 A. d8 O/ m' J4 B• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
- V! R, N6 ]" m9 M1 ^7 Q% L) t• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
, W' p! B; J+ o6 Q2 n% Q• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations/ k/ s2 _7 W# Y* j: e

Compliance:0 s0 ?, X) [# \/ o3 |# b
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
1 l ]. x( K1 Z, W8 t% ~8 k( a& J• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
! u- ]9 Y& H0 W/ o. P' N• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
% |9 i8 ~9 n& o, h; F3 l• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

2 m) a1 p+ E# Q8 M" K- a+ g• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit. l J: s6 J N7 e2 b8 @, ]* `
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department8 f6 ^! P2 `4 J/ N- j U
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
& J4 v; j8 a9 l" `" f6 Y: S0 |• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:- A; V `5 d+ T4 x/ D' O- c9 d
" V# i9 _$ b# [8 f2 Y( s• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP, V) ?, ]) m w$ L" i
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
2 y, F4 A! y/ L# p1 r• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position; H' D. ~9 J+ V& W3 F/ B7 Z( K
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office

• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
