YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

Payroll:; v k; t- \5 O. d; z8 u" x P
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired5 b7 r+ z* m: `: Y) o$ A/ B
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
1 ^; w8 q* s v) Y1 `9 P• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records ) |2 w0 D: r6 }! p
• Input benefit deductions into payroll

Reporting duties:
# M2 c0 `8 k' e, J# M# v8 _• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider2 S6 {/ e& g6 b, p: L
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website2 q% D. `- j" g [/ Y' Z. \
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s/ U* g5 y& e+ r
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
9 U+ l& \0 c, f9 H• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
% ?' i/ J# c, K• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.: g+ c0 F/ D9 \5 b* V) t+ T1 R
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies: |" Y6 j- @( I9 W
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

Accounts Receivable:8 N g' C) V K2 Q
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
^$ y: J2 Z" A( r( c4 T5 F• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department0 }' D W* `6 i2 @3 y D& F
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments# ^1 J! M/ `; F" ]9 V" G
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing& p2 @7 V& r6 Z

Qualifications:3 g6 u& ^. s3 B# F
1 ?+ W1 E3 U( w" G• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP7 [, U( b' S# D w4 N) t
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association( x' w0 ~# H4 J- C0 ~: A7 b/ A
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
' q0 P" ^& _; b! k1 m4 D! u• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office* j& g' Z" O; A3 R% x
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work7 e r% W/ I: M, a
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure* X1 F; S# M7 q; U- f* z! E
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
