YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

Payroll:
" M2 F. q, Y) d0 B+ Y3 i2 |• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
: i4 S! g: I1 ^" e2 U @0 K• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll9 y' l% K4 b: O2 {; }3 b3 e
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
% J# V! Y& y3 I( R ?! Q/ S9 A0 L• Input benefit deductions into payroll

Reporting duties:4 O, T; L0 j' c' V9 q
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
1 R* h, {, K2 T Q9 Z7 o• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website) R. L+ V; J+ P" R) _7 u' U
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
3 Q* w5 w5 K3 B' T& _6 a• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority0 o/ T% a9 D7 s d9 l2 x* X2 e( a2 Y
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations& W x8 z9 s( @& v, ?8 R. f, `

Compliance:
: h6 H# D! l: X- M- b# z• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
9 l) C5 R" I' q0 F5 N7 k• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.7 O+ N: Q! d$ n' T' g
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
/ t0 d6 N3 ~2 ~/ h1 V; B) ~• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

0 O" @6 |; B: f& ^. ~• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit O$ V. \! Z( N2 i. s3 y1 {. h0 V4 Z0 b
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
" \% I4 t( f' H/ I0 C5 b/ l6 z4 ]• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
9 @- c) X5 s2 s$ D6 ^3 q• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:* \- z6 O8 d9 A( H T: V6 h
9 n, h$ h5 ^3 o5 n; ]& X# h
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP% c! A6 L! i# }! J7 W2 z+ \
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association: w4 i) h5 X0 ]. h9 i5 o6 Y0 W
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position2 o) I. W. L# V1 G/ Y' L
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office2 N% A! O8 d5 [; s
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work+ A: Y+ v5 x1 l& V
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure/ s( @ d" S( ]3 ~0 p
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures# t- E7 ^, x* U4 |9 a! _
