Job Title: Product Technology Manager, Lab Equipment         Date: October 13, 2011! J" R. M* w/ q' A3 z1 k" J5 w

Scope and Purpose of Job- e5 H7 m5 d3 l3 |
Employee would be responsible for handling all technical support for Lab Equipment systems (both hardware & software), to include lab testing & dyeing, dispensing, sample conditioning, and lighting cabinets. Work as the technical liaison with 3rd party suppliers.  Work very closely with Product Manager on new product development for all laboratory equipment.
% {8 L8 p* M$ m9 nMajor Responsibilities and Accountabilities# g! q' g$ O# e* D1 ]( L
•        Be the global primary contact for support for Lab Equipment Systems and liaise with 3rd party supplier on any issues.
8 Z- M* c( d& v3 Z! f) ?•        Answering all technical questions concerning mechanical functions and software operations.% B* U* T$ }, P' p+ z
•        Assist with troubleshooting ideas on technical and software problems
# J! q- ^/ d7 X8 r) V$ ~' _# D7 Ro        Test all new patch versions of software prior to release9 r0 N* `6 Q! u
•        Assist where needed in application questions.' Q3 I/ k0 o! A- Z3 j
•        Check all technical documentation for correctness prior to field distribution.
- H$ y3 x! C6 e; C9 E2 m- So        New parts and replacement parts and installation procedures
8 X) s# C4 ]4 ko        Translation to Chinese and other languages if needed2 k0 z/ d. I" Z8 C" c( V! n
•        Track and report all warranty failures8 G% q7 M$ w  q7 e; }4 U- w
o        Make monthly report to Product Manager and 3rd party supplier.
( i+ E. Y/ k! l1 F7 k+ Y* To        Recommend remedy to improve product quality and design.$ B0 d( H% \+ o" p, u
•        Assist Product Manager in all new product development plans for all Lab Equipment products.  In some cases act as the Project Manager for new product development.
- _" i" \0 Z, m1 r: lo        Run field Beta test sites and any new idea testing and make reports
7 t; y! c- s: {* A+ c0 p/ |o        Assist in information gather for any new product idea.
* h* w! b# ~8 q3 c$ |7 r5 q/ b0 ro        Assist in writing and new product specification. k& Y7 w. ^: H( q1 w5 U5 u5 {- `" i
o        Point of expert contact for implementation of features/functions.

•        Assist in Sales support & training.: [& t  R$ b7 E& H( F
•        Responsible for any technical training needed for products, either given by the supplier or actually give the training in person.  To use both Web-based and on-site training tools.) L3 V0 Z9 V7 Q" v: N# ~2 T
o        In rare cases where no other solution exist to travel to customer site to solve technical issues.

List of Skills/Qualifications        ! p) G" L: I$ y. S
•        Must have an extensive background in textile laboratory equipment uses and workflow process.  Understanding of textile dyeing processes.& y# A- |  i, {: [! ~, r
•        Background knowledge of dispensers and software " I: s; r' c* d- C, G& t. E& q
•        Proficient in software use and writing.
