6 C2 U1 V1 f4 D• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed! J: d+ u" {- M K: `* l
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
% d0 e6 F% T9 D6 j% n• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers& R% r/ N- { f: U5 y, j
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
# r# m, \, _3 ~. K* K5 t2 a% }• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place" Z; N4 [3 p, x# v9 i
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment' ?7 f& z3 s. I- E- D$ ^
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools9 H& g4 @+ R: D! \9 j3 H% D5 } T
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting+ F! H6 I; g, u0 e1 Q0 Q
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
* o5 F; C/ ^! O/ W• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
" u; z- a5 {8 {: d- D• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs. i9 U# Y, Z! x/ E* a( e
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
( v2 Y2 Z) ?0 Q4 E. T/ t2 G& V# |+ D• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 2 F# }7 [* ~, _7 m
or& h' C3 h( a9 n' W
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
+ ^( U- c& O) U# J• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory ( W4 S) f+ A2 P: y+ F/ \# Z
