• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed& ]- z5 O3 j0 B( F' v. l
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components$ b! v" i8 y5 G- C* x
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
; c2 B7 V N1 f% q* W0 K6 ~3 |• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
a5 O* [7 C( B5 d/ _" n• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
3 f& S e3 _( P• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment" @; F% m/ J% x# L! W8 e
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools& q: H; c) A/ M8 c
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting' N+ G8 J. C# p1 I) H0 b
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
; i$ H( B& ]2 S D• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns( B% M% j+ b/ O# ?5 ~
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs7 c% K9 \, p6 @6 m# Q& E
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation+ m, l& b2 \: E) [8 `
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
) T- J7 f! N$ |' eEducation and Experience Requirements:
* G3 Q1 G4 u8 `# ?* e. i• Completion of secondary school is required
" } N% P! Q" z4 c3 f# P8 f( n• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 3 u; I4 E2 ~% [2 K) d

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade 5 i, f/ V. i% V/ t, b$ |& W
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
