Senior C#.net / SQL consultant. 1yr contract starting April 2nd, 2012.

9 M- ]& I/ o' L' qIn general, key aspects of the role are:
-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
) b5 n# n4 q9 n" Jtechnology;
* {  @3 a# L$ D-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
-        Participate in peer reviews;
6 ~' w5 e; X3 J. q, G+ J; F/ g! q-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
6 s1 O) h6 ^9 V! l-        Programming planned enhancements;
-        Testing system changes;
1 B) |, V* Z0 x8 D-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
( ]6 c  t! Q' @# \) _  _8 \$ M: Vdepartment’s change management processes;
-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
2 }$ t9 P+ i1 J) Z7 U6 T; i" o-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
-        Excellent written communication skills;
, `/ O. I/ I. p  T7 R! h% ]-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.



A. Mandatory Requirements
& K. r/ R! E, }+ k- E8 K3 r(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

; l, e# ~# [# x4 V) p3 N(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

+ p/ K8 I, E6 H- p- @! x8 \( ^+ l(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.
# ]6 D# H  v: r2 D5 q
, q9 n$ d  A3 m' }(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

) P# p/ W: I' L5 v, K(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

B. Desirable Requirements
(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

- Crystal Reports
- Pdflib
- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
. M5 n1 O7 a) O+ }- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
4 H* S2 X! i7 c( q- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
  a/ |' t  P" `- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
