Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
) ~' a) Q' F, k) y5 q/ z• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person* c- K) C4 S3 ?. l
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
4 _" R: v) i' Z& ]* q0 K• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately* s: v2 M/ K! w7 ?* j! B2 q4 l9 Q
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
/ i# N: E4 `/ B: Z• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents$ G- @) W$ O; s1 ]
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
: ~: U* `# ~0 I# B' [/ N. H8 G• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
' L9 I6 Z0 E, z! V0 r• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events: r& X/ W2 L4 S F
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean q+ N5 ~: U" A: i, E/ F! u
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
; S$ c2 J/ J" F1 q$ T% P• Maintain front counter service files6 m) a, _& `8 V( F5 V
• Perform general office duties as assigned* \: ^- M; Y3 |; @0 H& M3 G, B) K

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
* k( f3 j& K. R! w1 m3 T• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
6 X" H0 {. [5 p2 U• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
G- `! F2 X1 j# h• Good English writing and oral communication skills# U6 l: q5 V; d2 S2 {' e& y" W/ b
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients: U7 L( }0 a1 _. }/ x( V
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
" H; w0 W* J: ?/ C; ^* ?- m. ~• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately 7 x, q; }0 _& A8 V
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services

5 E$ h* [ R i" s3 N• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
9 J6 ?7 a- D9 e• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
2 M8 d N$ y) m• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
# L, D" `- q2 `; O• Ability to work well under minimal supervision; s- w+ ~ a+ j4 T1 R9 o3 V1 G
