Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary: ! F! ?9 y }8 V9 s
Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

9 y6 s) m+ B9 g5 ^8 M: P• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person/ |: U+ i/ a, d U5 l, n. E' I# F
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
# n% e- ?, ?2 H/ o& e2 f+ C• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
0 g7 F* H# S" `+ `3 `7 w. ^• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
, X R# h$ N+ _• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents, F) B, b/ _5 b* O: D
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker1 F. I9 w3 O. h- y X
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events6 Q, t, S0 Q) \0 z7 f5 f
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events

( N3 U$ ~* l$ b& |$ ]+ p• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters+ V! F5 g# V: ?: X0 W
• Maintain front counter service files

• Report to ISP Program Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
! v# `( w3 y, b2 A. f. `• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person% b' g2 `! X) u0 C5 i1 Z* m# [. o
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
2 x' T2 I% r, e& z& @% d• Good English writing and oral communication skills
" _3 t. S6 Y& I2 X0 }• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
. p5 d2 {4 F9 K• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook4 o1 u+ N$ D$ v* |! i
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
) o/ h" y$ i: i Q* v n• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

Qualifications:
/ c6 I6 k' z+ p! T; r( t• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
6 P& m3 R( w+ v+ V0 v8 R! Z. |1 C• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
7 L9 A- q3 ^. z7 L8 r• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
4 L* q4 P" I4 k# Q/ V• Ability to work well under minimal supervision8 d2 r% P% d- R8 Y7 N8 S9 R, O
