Position Title: Community Development Worker
& r$ W# w i0 `6 oHours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

5 J2 x( c: F/ x% X- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community- T# Q8 g7 @ W6 q" a% w
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services6 E( | U2 D& |4 V
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
) M$ Y1 `; @ ^, B; O% X& u8 u- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies5 Z; f, H. A; s W% n$ X$ @5 A
- coordinate good will activities
% T- P& l$ k$ g; C5 f, r2 ~- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members9 x* R8 v& m9 a1 R/ `
- submit information for community news
0 X9 \. S; G3 K- prepare and send AGM information to members* g. U; l& T+ J4 @. R, m0 n! a
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre/ k! H9 r" X5 R" T% B" {7 l5 H
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services' Q$ w% {. X) m8 G# Y
- assist in writing proposal for ISP
' b" g- l( e6 y! l1 k$ Y; V- write quarterly and final reports for ISP5 g6 T7 y& x) Q/ E" A& R
- explore new ideas for ISP \( P7 b$ ?5 O8 i+ f, B3 _8 r
- hold regular meetings with ISP team9 U+ M% u9 K4 N
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- coordinate good will activities

Qualifications, A4 }8 A! g7 Y7 k) o" V% O
- degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
+ d4 t) A# N M5 K+ A4 v- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
1 m4 x7 ? z; a' D8 x+ l- experience in community work and immigrant services7 _& t. r& X5 }& Y
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills3 C. E% x6 L6 b% }! V: J
