Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news

/ O: |1 b k8 o# ?/ @. p# H- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
& H7 G! l' r! _' D6 y; ]% |- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties* @+ s6 l4 x% V* I! R' W
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties+ m3 b1 m1 I( v, P$ ?8 k: \7 `- |
- provide volunteers for various programs 6 r0 J! x- k5 J+ @6 ]4 S" y a4 s
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual& e& X9 w/ ~$ p w
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation! Y; T9 d2 [6 z* v/ n
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
/ ~# b. J" @' o- ]/ Z2 {- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services9 M: n8 j3 k2 z/ @' B6 a
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports- k7 n) A5 o7 P9 P
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed+ W! W7 z5 S+ S1 F# S5 I; S2 X
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed4 R1 \1 ~% s7 J8 ~) a$ s( t! H6 W
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)6 n3 l( d+ a7 W- f$ @, D
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ( S/ l% s' C7 w
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
0 L# D. _ {+ O- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers + E2 H3 T) B# `" M
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers ' {6 s. B; [5 N+ p
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

: w0 N$ f; E' ^# E- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
8 h7 ]9 r% I5 d5 s. @; F- good oral and written Chinese and English skills! t6 e! M% r! k( l6 G; o
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services3 A, e$ l) s- W0 q
- leadership skills
! K4 ~ p* N( c( k: F: w9 g- management and supervision skills- H% T4 Y* ^2 e3 J! L% I! R
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills# v$ _, f8 j1 ~: }* g
