Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

- provide volunteers to update membership database
' {7 Y4 O* Q+ b y- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
1 t% g4 E) e/ j, Y+ h7 G. X/ a& }/ y- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
( n: @3 V. i1 S& m6 `- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
0 Y* ?3 o) V f( i- f7 t Y- provide volunteers for various programs
. k, c0 L: k. G& l- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
9 r2 L Z4 m! w( {$ m: L* ?% k- ?2 R- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
$ q" C3 k0 \, ]2 p3 F9 G" r5 Q- A- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
: K) l: d* S' C- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services% m, ^& T" j4 L6 o
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports, j u" z. S1 t% M7 Y9 y9 {
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
0 w- M' E$ X( s9 j$ E- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed4 d6 M& N8 g5 M1 t' [
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
4 q& @* w- j! P9 g8 Z8 @' l6 R- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events % {8 m$ ?' O! F
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
* x& v# g% p5 ?+ j: p, {" f; r- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
; K5 O* N" `( Z+ N, B7 o- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
( t$ R9 ~5 M" E A- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications, [) O/ I" H7 v: V4 ~
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education$ F6 R+ v0 P& j% O0 y+ t+ h
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills: c- x {$ h) ~4 e' k
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services9 d6 d4 J- a1 e3 b- K: u% j
- leadership skills

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
