- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
7 Y: T" _5 B0 x5 ^; b2 Y- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
( }0 i4 N2 m6 T3 @6 D. U' a- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties3 I3 y4 i. {& o' S: Z0 ~
- provide volunteers for various programs
* a7 z- @1 @. h5 ]9 K- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
+ @0 F& x. \( m! A1 `4 t- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
; \# W5 ~# z" O5 x4 ]; r4 H) ]- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
, ^$ X& ^% ~; f$ O3 W- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services1 F4 a" u6 h0 C
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
# G1 S' U1 ~- g5 ^" j- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed- E* q& D% h6 d- e; n# h% x
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed" H( f# E- m6 ?9 s' Z
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required) F: V0 D) ~7 j; D8 M
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
1 _3 i+ F$ e+ ~+ o- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
" p8 Z6 M' _* \( P3 r- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers . Q4 x/ A1 P( O& \4 X8 h# s x
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers / N5 |+ E1 |0 t" Y
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis + V3 u+ v! v# w! \. ?
- evaluations

- }7 H+ s5 ^9 i3 S# T) i; P- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
" t; D9 N A1 G1 L- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
`. A/ b9 F1 S% G4 p) n0 I- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services0 ?) y, [" u5 U/ E9 `
- leadership skills

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills2 J$ q# Z0 @$ _3 x# q
