To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. " d* v8 d+ J0 P: N; c8 [* x
* a3 z( s% } M1 }This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

* t/ d0 i) ^" e/ W• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
9 s+ X- {1 O2 Z& t- ?- y• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;( d/ O7 P8 m: H; V
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;4 q2 r: A* b9 |) [
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 7 F2 n" w/ D" r# ]% `( _
• Risk Management and succession planning;

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
3 O" z$ A& H8 F2 B" `8 ^; r• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
% O4 @; h3 {% L) l9 o: |• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;# t- f' I1 D- M' A6 V. T) }
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities, k8 p; k3 E: b) Q a: Z
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;& y, k+ L- e7 a+ c
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
& Z y, G5 t4 y0 z* W* e. {• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;. n" n4 e9 E& N2 [9 R, i! v
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;' ]' [2 F; t& {8 i
( @% a j# j! y% Y. jQualifications:$ `& q7 u6 Y. ^7 W8 R" a
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
& U+ p2 E7 C3 ]) } m- f* T• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
/ x7 ~ j7 o, W8 [' x1 x' Y. U8 Y6 s• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; ! c4 Z) @8 M3 y
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
2 Q# R0 e |. \' \# n1 C: ?( s• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.$ Q6 S; T- z% o& x1 k
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;2 h( B: B5 x; B! Z. U5 f& ]- r
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
! O: k; X4 x- T1 R+ }2 \% G) F! }• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
) p+ L8 M$ I/ _' H) `; D) T# z, r• Current valid drivers license;
, `& V- X. X( d• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;' q: ^1 C2 |) i& z7 f; k
• Conflict resolution skills;: h/ C5 N7 g- e
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
