4 n9 i2 F0 j6 ?- YTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 0 B9 n1 Q, ` y& l; ^. C6 U; y

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
' |5 Y" w1 `: m6 H• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
# A! ?9 _& g+ j$ j& i4 K• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
: U! z, r5 T! o9 T4 O* X• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;& k/ x8 K7 X7 w/ M6 K& \
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; " ~& U# ]/ k1 ?! P
• Risk Management and succession planning;5 _! S F- u4 U, T) p
# e* A H$ u( F# J! k& S; hProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: 0 k1 R! x* j2 m+ s% t/ T& Q
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;1 S" |5 Z8 ?8 l( ^
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
$ C7 K- u: `5 i! C• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;! Q; z( R o3 @& M. x
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
% ^6 A5 p8 ~) I• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;# p/ [# F R' p, x' ?
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;& d' z! \7 U% s
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
1 P0 d: x" o' C+ U3 {• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;8 ]. ?$ Y: q, w& W" j R

Qualifications:/ o) t6 }0 g$ t: f; q( f' E& _4 h
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
: x* p# m6 \ J& s% W• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
# K2 X) N) s8 x2 B* x- E• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; ! u% R( E" o3 C4 s! w( l2 M
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;5 }7 v" s7 m! m0 e6 E4 ^
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
/ J9 \+ s4 U& ^) t3 C• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
5 S$ l( }) F2 z9 } O) W• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
/ ?: r2 M# X5 X; ]• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;" L' d3 R+ S1 E* P9 G
• Current valid drivers license;
/ s- A K" _/ _. \" j3 \" a• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;0 C7 {3 D$ o$ H3 [7 h0 E
• Conflict resolution skills;# r9 b. S: b* S8 n' N
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;' T+ P P+ \) b) \5 N
• Committed and passionate about children;9 Y/ M! I. X$ H+ E
