To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

; R3 w* A2 D1 {7 @5 S: U1 wThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

+ e4 f% {: n1 Y$ }' w+ y. Y; ^/ J• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;) s3 n& G5 a* _2 _: c
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;: a4 S0 G5 d- _- G" X
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;% t+ D6 |% z3 Q; o
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
+ e. K5 c; t1 J• Risk Management and succession planning;, e# h. T8 {# w8 K
+ L ~, G4 q! u) s$ s5 @: \5 qProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: 9 Q3 v; w" t A, I; i
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;" w* C. O6 [5 W' ]3 l: v
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;' k2 _% c0 P0 c$ k& d; t
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
1 ?+ r# V# w, O3 @$ r2 w• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities& r4 N; ^% N U2 a
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
9 n& m% h" w. p! u0 y3 |• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
. n Q( t f7 c/ r( J5 \• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;+ L7 s/ Q3 X5 _7 K
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;4 V, m7 H' P* E7 F$ H" K0 ~: h
7 p% b: w9 C0 Z6 O) F9 SQualifications:
) L" W9 R) R7 }/ ]) I; w) V, D• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
' f& m+ k. x( w3 b. @ n• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
7 k( B$ L4 F! s( t; [6 K" P• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; ' s+ x; b* s/ B- M9 n$ n
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;& U- R$ Y* f9 Z- U H; A% H* H
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical./ F, B" z0 [* L7 d" j
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;0 ~. o! J$ i0 r0 _$ g0 q
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;, u% Y( C/ A5 d0 e% v
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;

• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;

• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
