Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project  M  \% f0 [0 _7 q& D# d

Job Purpose:. c, Q, E8 t; m; b+ `/ z
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)" v6 l5 I* L* n5 ]* O

) V( ^% L9 d4 y$ GAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:: a3 p) ?: ?, D/ Z4 Z% \/ ?
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
0 \- l5 M, E1 b•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
$ R' K8 e7 W. \% E' I' W6 B•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;3 I6 l4 e8 {1 b+ w" d
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
7 O9 e% }  D% m& T$ ~•        Risk Management and succession planning;4 N5 T& ?# ~, R* ?" Z; t
5 k5 f: {  A4 V+ c
Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
- z+ U, H7 K6 o, R* h% f•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;: L$ i! Y* }3 O5 `6 _
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
& N1 M9 W# u6 y6 I# g8 i- O: E2 g•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
' a6 [* K3 ?9 X$ u•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities6 N" e* U3 m5 s- L  t2 c1 z7 R# A3 h- V
•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;; A" r2 a" r" w8 A; F: L
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;" \% E& P0 t; H4 v; i- i
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
+ n/ H: t1 w. y. A•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;$ v' P7 z6 G# n; i( ?% Q

Qualifications:
5 L2 L  ~* i6 }5 ?! P•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
' {/ v$ E: ]! H2 Q0 L0 [0 T9 x2 W0 `•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
5 d* g5 O$ x* i- c5 ]1 H•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  . g, y' B$ `5 S- O0 y7 d' r: E
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
4 i. r8 V/ J5 |•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.( y) @6 E1 ]$ h. E
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
3 F) R/ Q3 w2 P2 i0 \•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;9 N2 Q8 v& M2 X5 S3 ^- f
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
/ T0 a9 s3 Q6 e. l5 E•        Current valid drivers license;
4 s1 _3 j; X4 H- ~* r' |•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
/ Y% X6 t1 N1 g5 y$ A•        Conflict resolution skills;
8 c2 ?5 V7 z  A3 g•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
9 \5 O( P% m6 Y: ?9 X% V1 ^& _•        Committed and passionate about children;. d$ j" \* T/ j+ e
