3 W" x& ^# k" q0 F3 O9 ZTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ! k3 [9 n) Z8 _5 n4 q4 E

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

* }* u7 \( L# E0 K$ M6 H3 V7 Q# P• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
; j" Z! m# c8 v }& q• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
2 v4 Q$ q5 E$ ?• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;& T9 O& o& y5 }' B$ ?8 I- x5 B
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
; t% g. j: j* A; m• Risk Management and succession planning;

( s$ m$ Z" c) xProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
2 c7 H/ u: x5 \3 L" Q. V• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;, `1 }% K; {% }
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
: ]) t# Z; o% U- z3 o. Q, H• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;3 n2 O* K. Z( V
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
) U9 B- ]" \/ K& N9 U• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
0 d7 k4 ?1 F6 k7 w8 I• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;

Qualifications:
b3 |' p% S, B4 K• Degree in communications, human services or related field;0 Q! d" k4 J, A) x6 k
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;0 d& d1 |4 {& ^. s! v& u: c
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
3 y8 I/ R- I9 R8 o" y• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
8 b- B" Q+ n& V6 |9 t• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.3 Z8 u* A0 N( S* _6 y
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
& D* g: g# ~; ], @• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;# D- T; [4 _- M3 S
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
9 Z- G/ ]. ~$ E• Current valid drivers license;
/ C" y7 ?% d/ O- j2 g2 ^( u• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
+ a4 c$ g8 M9 b5 z1 L% L2 {. n3 u• Conflict resolution skills;/ l% e: g0 n- {" C" h
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;+ b! C8 K) c- t. @4 ~2 v! r
• Committed and passionate about children;
