Basic Job Information;

Amendment:  Compensation
Posting Title:  Journeyman 1 Auto Mechanic (Automotive Service Technician)
Location: 15620 – 131 AVE, NW. Edmonton. 780-482-2010
Compensation:  Journeyman 1 Automotive Mechanic (or 4th year Apprentices)
Your Choice of Hourly or Flat Rate (Salary under review, Rates based on experience.)
Hours of Work:  This position works 44 hours per week.
Days of work are Monday through Friday, Saturday rotation.
Group benefits package starts after 3 months.

Full-time journeyman to maintain and repair an assortment of vehicles with emphasis placed on preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities include:

Diagnose problems and perform all types of repairs to a wide variety of speciality vehicles
Requisition parts and materials, as required.
Create and complete work orders, gather fleet information and input data into the computerized management system.
Provide specialized training and guidance to apprentice(s).
Access technical information using Snap-on Shop Key on-line automotive support program and communicate using e-mail.
Other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a valid Journeyman Automotive Mechanic certificate or equivalent recognized by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
Applicants also must have a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent).
Preference will be given to those who have current experience diagnosing and repairing North American and/or foreign vehicles.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:  coaching and development (supports learning and development); communication (provides relevant information to customers and staff); efficiency and thoroughness (optimizing time and resources ensuring high quality work); planning and prioritizing/visionary (determines customers and staff needs); relationship building (positive interactions with people); self-confidence (makes effective decisions); and service orientation (customer service).

Notes:

Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications
Only education obtained from an accredited institution will be recognized as meeting the minimum qualifications.
An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
A Driving Abstract with no more than six demerit points (current within three months) must be provided if contacted for an interview.
More than one position may be filled.
