5 [, D% F5 K% T( l; h) ?4 BResponsibilities and Tasks: U$ v2 P) [" i, e6 b
# j: |) E: V, i! h- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
# r4 ]5 @# `- O3 d( Q& |; c2 c9 P9 u- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
# r7 c Z) ^* X- v5 [* R- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines; D6 B4 {' e" Q2 j
- Select type and size of pipe required$ W6 {# t( p6 [: b# n
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools) `( ^8 d7 U7 o# r! W/ |% {
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system7 Q( g9 s( c$ e$ Z5 P
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
. q# F* \6 a5 B* e2 j& [8 X- Test system for leaks using testing equipment

- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

Required Qualifications
, }; }' w& u2 W9 K% ^5 O. C% [4 I' _! [/ I% G
- Completion of secondary school
9 d7 C$ M$ a, n. Q# S% ?$ i- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation 7 q* {4 b/ `5 x8 u
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, B4 a6 t/ ^5 ~5 C" e! H: \9 M
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
0 A4 I- E3 t" N. P7 a8 e8 X, x0 C- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset

- Valid drivers’ license is an asset
