Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

Responsibilities and Tasks

7 Z& U# Q3 p  }! w% I-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
% G, k, ?3 Q7 X( R-        Select type and size of pipe required
' h5 l' b) H9 ^3 N-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

Required Qualifications
& o8 P1 }. L$ b. z( U& q! p
9 U% k# u5 D# G-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
' r* y1 \0 x/ p0 ^. U+ q-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
1 q+ H5 }$ f1 ?4 G-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
5 y6 A6 q, R2 L-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
