Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

Responsibilities and Tasks

-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
1 ]" ]. G  b( u! o9 ~5 f* B$ j" a& {-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
, F9 ?$ W3 G3 Q7 w- U-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
! r" j" D1 H7 }$ G9 ~" C# |-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
1 r) [& \9 ^: H4 A-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
" [' R, K4 I! A6 X# X-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

Required Qualifications
  L7 I( d0 f! w, t" g9 ^
! v, N+ s, Y/ W-        Completion of secondary school
! S1 |* L5 i) H-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
+ x& m; J  _0 f; v' x8 O* M: z$ n-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
) d# K0 `- ?4 F6 Z; o-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
- f9 R7 H0 j3 N-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
% n- K7 E& j$ H# ^; s- ]: ~-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
