Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

5 [, D% F5 K% T( l; h) ?4 BResponsibilities and Tasks

# j: |) E: V, i! h-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
# r4 ]5 @# `- O3 d( Q& |; c2 c9 P9 u-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
# r7 c  Z) ^* X- v5 [* R-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems

1 f$ q  n; `% Q, r6 ^# a8 z/ @-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

Required Qualifications

-        Completion of secondary school
9 d7 C$ M$ a, n. Q# S% ?$ i-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

$ E' f% V2 v2 ?1 t& x-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
