The qualified candidate will be responsible for aiding in efforts designed to purify therapeutic proteins from transgenic seeds, including:
" Y2 D. a5 d" t: |( A& I" o* Quantifying recombinant protein expression levels in transgenic seeds
1 G* J. N: V( z3 x* Purification and characterization of biologically active proteins from heterologous expression systems
2 m: g$ {8 {# g+ K6 F* Assisting in evaluating new technologies designed to quantify or purify recombinant proteins from plant tissue # u# Q: O5 u; N- Q+ z9 g
Qualifications: M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry, Plant Biotechnology, or relevant discipline8 W) r/ ?+ a! ~* k8 r
*2 - 5 years experience working with a transgenic expression system, preferably plants
4 T$ F H5 g7 x* q8 s/ e*Experience with protein purification and/or characterization (physio/chemical and biological activity) is highly desirable. More specifically:6 ?# H3 j% Q4 X+ Y
*Experience with gel electrophoresis required and a practical background with at least one of the following: column chromatography, HPLC, or LC a prerequisite.

*Familiarity with general DNA manipulation (PCR and restriction cloning) and/or enzyme analysis is expected
