7 E4 G9 O; i' I- L/ }This list comprises of vehicles that have been awarded the 2014 Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) rating from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS).

TSP+ is awarded to vehicles that have proven to be exceptionally good in moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests, along with a basic rating for front crash prevention.

* w( u$ k" x+ M# r  C  }9 D+ t2 c4 }While no one wants to be involved in a crash, the IIHS believes it would be wise to choose a vehicle in which your chances of survival are improved.

While no subcompacts received the TSP+ rating, the Chevrolet Spark is the only vehicle in its class to receive the Top Safety Pick rating, which is just one step below TSP+.
