In Canada, private property is inviolable. See how I got 1meter of land from a neighbor. My neighbor's fence was built in my land. I email my neighbor, the old man, but nothing came back, he was staring at me when I measured the land, what would you do? I email my RPR and explained it to him, nothing came back from
him either. The city doesn't have a solution on this and you need to find a surveyer and pay $400. I can tell on the RPR without survey. I don't need it. Finally I chose my friend's suggestion. I hired a guy to pull my fence out and throw it out in a ECO station during the evening when he wasn't home. I email him again saying, “don't build a fence in my private land, build a fence only in your land, I won't even share with you, I'll build my own fence in my land . to be continued.

點解要搞得這麼麻煩？和鄰居一人一半share，保持好的鄰里關係要好過不會超過兩千刀刀fence錢。

楼主够粗暴的，其实你自己找个surveyer出个报告，然后去provincial court file a statement of claim, asking the court to issue an order requesting your neighbour to move the fence, also ask for cost (you get your survey cost and case cost). You will win it that way with grace.

Yes, always win in a peaceful way. You never know whether the old man has a gun or something. This is not to scare you, but the reality. Try to get along with your neighbour.
