, w. k0 ~0 j9 J( s1 xPolice Sgt. Doug McIlwraith said Tuesday that Angela Ta has been charged with passing a motor vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk, failing to yield at a crosswalk, and careless driving.
; t3 |/ z$ P. ~) J/ d+ vMcIlwraith says the charges could mean a licence suspension, a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.
) h$ S3 `' F6 {: k" m9 @Six-year-old Jenna Chang and her mother, Ye Qiao, were struck Jan. 18 by a black BMW while using a marked crosswalk at 32 Avenue and 37 Street N.W.
Chang died of her injuries. Her mother is recovering in hospital.
