Buyers must be Canadian citizens or have permanent resident status.
( j* K* O9 P4 [. N: R9 ~Buyers must qualify and have pre-approved financing for the market value of the home – exclusive of the value of the land (maximum 35 year mortgage amortization). . \1 ^0 J' y5 J# X6 o
Buyers’ family income will not exceed a maximum level (to be determined). , C' u, S" I0 y- B4 ? e9 {. O
Buyers may not have a net personal worth exceeding $15,000 excluding primary vehicle and 5% down payment for the mortgage.3 K7 A( E% ~: }( c8 A) f! C
The First-time Homebuyers Program has developed guidelines to prevent speculative real estate investment or "real estate flipping".

! z$ D2 h# ?' C1 VBuyers will be required to sign a statutory declaration confirming they meet the requirements.

The Working Committee is developing processes for lottery draws for each of the 20 sites. Proof of eligibility will be required. Eligible applicants can apply to any of the 20 sites. Only one application per family per site will be accepted.
