Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)

- B; I E% ]6 J4 c8 VStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and6 D/ `+ M- L2 e9 R6 U( d3 ?
weekend hours.- ]1 I" f# {% E5 o/ S3 L, `8 B
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer5 R' ~, k* B1 S) {9 D' l c
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the$ O# H$ y0 e' b5 C
centre.
# G7 T3 h9 J; L$ A1 g+ e3 q1 B- hThese responsibilities include:% F" z) N, _5 Y1 B/ c4 C2 w
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.! J ]" G/ n- y Q& n" O0 x
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
6 @4 ^ q* n) K- w# ?' W-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and9 w, g) G w+ D! c8 q- T5 i
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 3 A: Z& C" L L7 l: p5 v1 Q
facilities’ maintenance, etc. 6 | S# ~+ c' x, e" ]# k8 a& `
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
/ Q5 Z. `# f% E& Qclients’ files etc.

Education:
+ }# \* W& u2 ^, a2 I-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, 2 O. P$ d3 ]/ ^0 @4 `$ \/ P+ J
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination % o" E v- ~& @* ^$ W3 G
of education, training and /or experience.
2 \5 V" Y+ Q) r& UKnowledge/Technical competencies:
* T! ]9 ~& U1 g4 d-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.0 [- R) a5 p! X, G& v z' s
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
3 `4 _6 _ Y' | S* ]2 iand Excel.
0 o" T- p; d4 z/ v; Q, ]-Experience using and updating an information database. ) b) @0 ^6 N5 A. i% A

Assets:/ f" X; X% f, @9 N( C; o! F
-Experience in using MS Access.
5 u( j; x3 e3 g( E" h, f( K) L-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
