Job description
* h' }5 J1 z, K6 v8 d- D7 rStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and2 G9 } p$ L( w& ]+ S- O8 F
weekend hours.; s$ n8 { y, C* B7 X* I
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
_. X% N' ?3 P* Flab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
& q7 K1 C' A1 l3 rcentre.
6 ^) J2 Q$ Q% W9 _! T5 l7 {These responsibilities include:% d# @$ P% n+ Y8 |) x# M6 m
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
% b/ T/ ?+ P+ {2 ]; H+ U-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.8 p, e7 {. e" {8 O7 c1 S1 O* _1 ~4 g6 e
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and/ k$ ^- H" J/ }" M( n
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
& K- A% S0 q! b8 E, Y! L% vfacilities’ maintenance, etc.

clients’ files etc.

Education:
1 ?! i( w& ^0 ?: `- K! |* y' O-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
* d; X2 C% L2 R( d% W8 X2 Ueducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
+ }' c3 n+ q8 U* I4 K: V/ eof education, training and /or experience. 9 _$ ]' l: k$ `9 A% S0 j
Knowledge/Technical competencies:& T. u7 M( j7 H
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
8 f2 v1 W& B2 [9 F! V6 f-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word: b! T! s! @: {% I. a! `0 B8 S
and Excel.
. R3 g& D% D4 n-Experience using and updating an information database. ) F% ?* K; H# P& B& g5 L

-Experience in using MS Access.9 _7 Q6 q0 m& d; }0 G: L: X a8 x
-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
