You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
' J- d0 k& {& u! ilab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
: f3 Y4 n8 J; L. G; lcentre.
l0 {2 M+ |/ c6 B2 a4 H* O/ IThese responsibilities include:* I* ~; ^" p+ U4 m8 x, j
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.: [" N: Z' L- B0 m: B
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.5 J/ S' \' V+ m8 p8 d% e, }
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
4 n6 Q( A+ X' brenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 5 }! h8 C; y) E9 g$ A+ _
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
) A2 M5 M- K3 p' Y* m! R# X-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
& ]1 A1 Z1 b7 R' \5 A3 ]& `clients’ files etc.
& t+ S) p# L3 kStatement of Qualifications , d* T4 i7 p' u. d
Education:
: T- K/ u5 K! r+ s, q% m' R. n& O e-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
3 `- O% w* M) y. O1 {education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination ( J1 `) `" ^- [+ \* p: g, K
of education, training and /or experience.
) F8 g: v# [7 L7 }Knowledge/Technical competencies:9 b- _) Z, T0 N4 b8 H0 c" |$ S! D
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
2 z5 ^6 p# ^$ R& Z$ D" h-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
) |4 M+ |4 l( @3 o% W! }+ j3 @and Excel.
8 k; Z. b4 L9 U' X: K-Experience using and updating an information database. 2 {6 @6 o2 L" h3 ^1 _- q

Assets:
' S2 E6 m t$ R-Experience in using MS Access.
( u! V& h f% I, Q$ z9 }-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
+ }3 [9 k: q! M" c- i! J-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA K& _$ w6 q d& f. y9 B
Abilities:

-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
