Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and+ y- l3 X( @# w8 u3 _
weekend hours.: i, e+ i1 N2 C2 \
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
8 R v8 H- p- K: v/ J5 A* w$ Xlab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
# p- y. D. _% {% H7 gcentre.; W9 z% B" a2 d1 ?* a
These responsibilities include:- K6 ?4 Y% [6 N9 t
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
K+ i# R' C3 z6 O-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP." l3 ^9 c( K Q0 T4 U! L
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and& e+ S0 p- o" h5 I: ]
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to / C$ c7 @7 M8 Y" ~
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
! N& h) W2 ]4 n-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic & R, p. r: q& H/ O
clients’ files etc. 6 a! G4 |! Z& C& ]# i

-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, + P5 y8 p! a, _- f: x
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination [& U0 q( R, B& l$ R1 o% Q3 x% J* g
of education, training and /or experience. 3 O! W% b f. E" D
Knowledge/Technical competencies:( X7 L6 i4 l# w+ A
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
) z, Z. S. M0 @# d8 z: {/ J-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word9 \, w1 d. Y2 T1 n6 U! P1 T
and Excel.
- d: c' g: U4 J! t; a& f-Experience using and updating an information database. # z! h# N* x( L- x9 `

-Experience in using MS Access.$ o3 o* @' b0 l1 t) \0 V
-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
