Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and8 a! y* E$ Q6 f* P
weekend hours.
0 l% {( f' i8 M; s8 K7 p; y$ aYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
+ l/ }! T$ ]( V5 I9 ylab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
" Y% l4 |8 l( f3 q4 g& F3 `centre.$ k/ p" }0 J% m5 b x6 E( Z
These responsibilities include:0 @/ l$ r9 w! C
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
/ |6 \6 I1 [# K* @" G- I/ m0 p-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
$ t4 t" V# H y2 h8 p8 I: m) y: a7 S! L-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and) l/ T/ s1 P. B8 z( B
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 5 z8 j! ]) R; P/ d+ u+ z1 T
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
$ y: p/ e+ u! v-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic

Education:
1 {) F; c1 I0 T! u-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, : p6 u1 p7 p" w; e$ z& H! q
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
; O+ S- c6 z" ^- iof education, training and /or experience. # B7 Y o1 x1 r! j4 Z
Knowledge/Technical competencies:9 w! `7 `' \# b# K( [/ _
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
y" k" w7 l8 o. ^# b4 W-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word9 \& E' X! i- F. p( D
and Excel.
4 X2 z/ f$ K) _ U-Experience using and updating an information database.
1 X( \4 F' M; g5 T8 P4 a$ D7 e8 m' M5 ~4 r; d( ^ _9 b) _
Assets:
1 M; T) W4 E8 r% l-Experience in using MS Access.

% B- U+ q# Y# B9 l-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA
