Non-ferrous Laborer

Job Summary:
' y9 n0 B* c7 Y0 [0 lThe Non-ferrous laborer must be able to properly identify and sort non-ferrous metals. Applies knowledge of non-ferrous metals to properly identify materials when interacting with customers. Prepares non-ferrous materials for transport. Both indoor and outdoor, fast-paced setting.

' a- G& t9 S2 v5 z8 J3 a8 |+ J# JMust be able to sort, process, grade non-ferrous materials
" X5 }7 k4 b9 [( n9 ~Inspects material for hazardous waste and grades different types of non-ferrous materials
1 e: u- Z6 n5 ~9 y1 z4 C. fLoads and unloads non-ferrous material- E% ?/ o6 s' @/ D. a9 `; D+ k
Must be able to work safely at all times
! R7 L5 {* T4 J2 j' RBe able to effectively perform tasks independently; e; K! e2 H) K/ s5 G/ f
Performs routine housekeeping.
N) @; n. E- M! }Observes and reports any safety issues% x5 g3 }5 v5 j( _5 k

Understand and be able to grade all non-ferrous material properly
' A0 T! X5 L8 ~( z# |! BMetal recycling industry experience is an asset
( S5 t3 `$ Y; r. o& s* p) Z# o% V" _Experience stripping equipment and/or with manual material sorting% T+ A9 R, D6 A" C, D% l
Knowledge of non-ferrous processing
/ ^. F0 ^9 t- ^6 N$ n/ UHigh school diploma (Or GED)
* ~; _- f N- U, U; ~0 w$ DWell-articulated and assertive
* s6 i- t5 l% o! k% {! ~8 B: I' NAbility to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, maintenance personnel and other employees of the organization
: f. |1 b) I0 p# { XAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
