The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

+ u" Q6 w' y4 i; J4 [! a- }Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
- n7 [  h5 A  ~, D7 Bfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

7 S: W7 l" T$ t+ MQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
; w( q& X3 ]; l8 C8 A9 z; @6 K8 B" C0 jChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
, E- y0 d$ s% X0 l# Hseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
0 i# J5 m! q2 _of a team essential.
' S9 _" J  H! i% y5 WThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
+ X3 {6 R* U. V$ h; tand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
