0 e7 J% _& b! XJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
( v  L/ v: G8 V$ Bcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.


3 r& y. q5 A4 |* ?DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

  @" F5 Y0 f+ Y8 W, S6 m2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
" \0 @' z- [' h' Raccordance with Students' Union policies.

: N6 T  e6 n* d* u! P. I3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
0 f. P' u& Q% s9 H8 ]3 z4 i5 M5 ltotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

: Z$ g( Z8 |9 m0 Z* a& m4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
- k: q. [9 P( O' Bincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

: @: u: G- n3 d5 f9 t5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
8 _! R! X# r, B( s% z8 {action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
+ @% `! L+ \8 T+ {intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.
) J- e- L+ L6 v7 J# N* k8 i
% M7 s9 e$ x7 u% A7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
+ p% u0 z  A* Q+ s  nManager.

$ k' A8 }- a2 ]9 b& H! _, gQUALIFICATIONS;
5 F. V- G6 f# U' k0 T% b( G1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
9 h1 U2 h0 b& A9 L: N$ F
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.
- u9 q: |" F" Z: q  Z
  S  L. L7 N/ {& `% J+ ~- {3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.
" k: }! p3 \1 q4 r, L
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
5 n) i5 q1 N; }: G) hcard transactions.

+ f) |" Z7 \: V, w( S5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
- q* v# J3 `: G, j. ?) j5 r2 iprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
