SERVER (RATT)

11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and

$ R! r# W8 J. R% y/ vJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
- S/ I* p5 u! c, I. `  _Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
9 h: g1 r, m0 [) vcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

% f! F: z7 _! u9 j2 F
3 L: f# x* N, q% p! S& [  m, UDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
- @. e3 G5 U' t9 O
$ A9 N2 j8 Q. m6 J  }( R$ P) a0 x2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
3 H& Z: B7 `7 I" C$ y: [high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
1 J) M' \! n3 L2 T9 e; Zaccordance with Students' Union policies.
2 k0 s' t0 P: V# `' k' t( p3 i  q
( D7 Y0 \! ^% ^, {; }# J3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
$ G, R' v6 _9 Q3 J8 f1 u2 vand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

( j7 i. v" T4 j; v% \4 O# O% j: e. m5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
0 g# k* i9 g/ M& n% ?! J2 C- }. ^# Vintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
! ^' U1 w: g6 ]. |( P6 M: S2 wAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

) y  b6 N# A- h, z" {6 B9 S7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
! K+ u- _0 L; p# }Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS;
' D2 a, z5 F4 N% t8 x& w# H1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
8 `8 r$ X+ z" g) f, |
' O- ]) J* T- U. B' j% m: s2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
' R4 ?. ]! L0 s. ?( c  yoperation.
% _2 P* C/ |; a, x( k2 [8 F  e
3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
1 N+ G2 R! k- U8 Q  }policy.

4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

: y  a% V: O8 q( M) ^& i5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
- j; e4 r( d8 v" b. B. B  }professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

! b% d* ]5 q2 s! `" x& m! B+ UWage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
