8 v$ I1 |: v" n" a( p, tJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  2 t$ F! N& F- r" N, _2 @& m
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
7 q& ^- j, u5 ]5 n( \procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  * m8 P' Y! ?8 ]# M- C
cleanliness and order in the bar.
5 r; A( n8 W3 l/ v$ `& ~4 x; C6 C) u
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:( @! H0 }7 M. y8 S, z% M6 Q
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
3 y$ a. S5 G5 c% Q9 A4 m$ P! Pbeverage items.

4 @' Z  r: h7 a) l; I+ s3 X; t6 P2 z2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  6 f0 `1 i! h. C* ~! y2 H" R
bar and debit floats.
+ P7 b- V+ q4 D1 O/ l# M* S8 T- |9 h2 P! Z6 \! O, x& X
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
' W3 I  e( S: {5 b; Q# {( _& Veach shift, and upon closing.; P% h( s0 w5 O5 r  w

2 l4 x5 v8 v" R$ i+ `* X: I2 u4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
" u8 R' R( ~9 U. d$ mattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  # j/ G: ~3 ?% D
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces." D9 f6 M$ q9 M

+ _7 q2 ]! O  ]' ^/ g5 L- d8 b4 S6 I5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
4 a- R+ v# a) p9 w$ D% @storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
% U) G' }' j  o$ U! C0 T# C3 Tproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
; W1 ]/ b) y* B
4 ]2 b& x* _/ c1 A0 s' k1 \9 J6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  + X$ K, y! Z! w6 m+ j! C
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
' n' }2 d. L+ g/ \* Vhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  $ U: [. a, |6 X7 B0 L
accordance with Students' Union policies.8 Q4 t# J1 S* j( v1 B( y
' t( W% \& d1 H4 }$ U+ O( _
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
% W' H( Y. q+ s6 \: V, Ehigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.3 ^# ~3 A8 [0 V$ x$ S
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  1 V5 {0 A  t/ v7 `" {* x% Z# A' r
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.2 Z4 P1 T/ k$ Q7 N4 `0 o. ^
0 U0 N0 L" X" a2 w2 f1 W
9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  ! A0 c" |6 N! n
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.! w' W3 g# U# l( U# M: v5 X% v

& f/ b: o, g. k+ k: `' OQUALIFICATIONS:
0 {! w* J+ d1 `$ V1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.1 f+ H  }" I! p6 S8 M

2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  . d$ y  o4 [0 _4 h! U4 z# @1 l& ]
operation.
% _6 M: e9 y' \" X  Y9 F- ]$ D) [* c- A/ b, q. [0 o" t
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  1 }9 D# R/ t# ^5 i/ t
accordance with Students' Union policy.# {; P; O7 A. X( ^9 e  Q

8 d) o. B  _3 l4 X. t4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs./ Q9 {+ M; W( F0 w8 T3 v4 ?

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  0 |! @2 A6 e. P& C. U# D
