ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action. A% |8 s" l6 D7 }The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.' n% M: t% y' v6 L

Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.+ c0 F5 F) P4 P7 \

Qualifications:
9 r- `' Y, Y* C: _# A3 l2 H1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.! z; R8 W" V" e
2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
/ ^$ t* Z# W8 Z: N3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.3 e9 p) @: F' |. q6 Y$ ?
4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
