ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Community Initiatives Documenter0 E$ C& A% z& ~
The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.3 U$ K: S' W4 H7 x/ i2 u# D1 i; w
) l+ V9 H# R: {3 y; R( ?6 l- HEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.- M9 i* N: g% n$ t% E9 @3 C

Qualifications:
" a: i! w* v( W1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
2 N, I q/ g$ d }$ ^2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
& [5 b! w. H1 x3 E) [+ D3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
y8 }) d. B9 @; u0 o+ r1 ]4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.! |% T& j1 y( S
