Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management+ K5 j) J- [* b1 d* z' A
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a4 t( P; E/ ~$ ]) U& S1 J5 X+ w
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED

policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's" B9 |/ r& F2 D% o: t) a5 w H. w

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
. q8 F. ]/ c! D u$ Y+ ovision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
- E9 u6 Z; U* H# F4 B1 t/ ?1 a+ k* ~arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
: u- W8 z3 Q" X4 e4 \, Bmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports" Q1 F1 x9 u2 {6 ^5 u/ S H& A: j, `
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures+ k6 X, q0 b( V. e# o7 a. q: b% M
to implement the organizational policies.

; O( S4 {" h1 L1 A8 Y7 w) n# C6 m* QPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
( W$ c4 x2 ]) }) o2 Y& qas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
9 p1 }) \: l$ W% c% i# A3 kservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have

% Z! x% [" n6 F9 R5 s5 NIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the0 K, E0 o/ H5 j; ~0 r
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer' M: ~$ S1 N. U9 u* [ M1 W
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
: ]9 Y7 C6 v6 Y# c& @) W/ U |that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts; X! l! h) L3 u: g0 k
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of$ D t1 s, h/ n- J/ p
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups1 a+ }% M6 M3 J6 k- [# f1 `
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
* e( m. s1 ~- _7 U" f* [& {2 Q8 kpartners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
6 U0 J2 a+ J! [5 porganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to1 b: E* B! Y1 L1 y' D# J% ^4 E# z
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and& ~/ E5 v6 L L* k6 ]+ W
managing projects and budgets.5 o8 k7 v1 ~9 R. w9 _' n( a
