This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.; g P- g, L, g- Q

FUNCTIONS:
1 `# |) u" y( j• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.
0 {, }, ^6 @& m* `' W• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.
4 q5 u' g+ [ f• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information. t8 A# I( S1 ]. i
• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather

• Adhere to schedules.
' [9 G, [6 U' D; C• Obey and follow defensive driving guidelines, local traffic laws and Transit system regulations.

8 Z% }' K3 [! ~4 K- q5 H• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.
" d: q% \# a2 y• Proven ability to deal directly with the public, with well-developed customer service skills; the ability
3 ^8 W) K1 q* e! @1 n9 vto be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger 4 i+ F ?$ E, x( v5 }

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).
; I3 l: `" O: z f• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.
4 ^0 P$ |0 n3 K! s6 t+ B• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.

showing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period. L9 t* z/ C0 \9 q+ C
• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill
* T- _- q1 ]1 w& Rvideo-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).3 Z' [2 p+ k' d% U
• Successful completion of the ETS Training Program.
