) o5 D4 l* w4 B5 QEdmonton Transit is currently seeking applications for the challenging position of Conventional Transit Operator — for positions starting in Summer 2007. This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.
' M! ]2 P7 v2 f: E1 a6 }• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.
; u6 O% [6 a ~# i4 k3 l7 f• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.
* q$ j$ `/ e7 g: Z, c) [• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather

• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.! B+ `; P9 P9 W( i
• Proven ability to deal directly with the public, with well-developed customer service skills; the ability
/ @ H2 R! i" w4 l& B Yto be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger ' u8 j! c) y: Q

4 B: k. {' u) S( A1 k7 x+ X• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).
4 v4 K& p3 s o7 \; u• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.6 o2 L; i! p0 S6 H) ~$ x
• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.
7 O8 P1 R. ^2 O/ g• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date) : U( U' _$ a; n4 ?' s+ u) B" h5 e
showing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period.

• Internal ETS applicants must have completed all mandatory in-house training.

Various hours of shift work (straight or split shift), any time of the day, any 5 days of the week

Thereafter: Guaranteed minimum 74 hours biweekly

SALARY RANGE: 401, Salary Grade: 004

Post Training Rate: $20.36 - $25.45 Hourly/ \. W4 z( W+ v$ }" s
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
