Finance group. This group is responsible for providing the government’s economic forecast, which underpins
the revenue forecast for the government’s fiscal plan.

  Z. j- Q: r( t# r% O3 M! RYour main responsibilities will be to monitor current economic developments, analyze trends and assist in
8 B3 @( _2 b- G8 _preparing the economic forecast for the Alberta government. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you
+ _/ y( M* N) U0 X8 bmonitor developments within Alberta and the global economy and assess the implications for Alberta’s
  s- d& x/ O9 R, ]7 Beconomic performance and major revenues. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable
2 J# ]( E1 A7 hyou to present the results of your technical analysis to a non-specialist audience.

1 G4 F8 q: N% K* F7 gYou will work in a team environment and be comfortable in defending your analysis and forecasts to others in
" F% l; H1 p3 h8 F# D- `the group. The ability to manage numerous projects will prove valuable as you will have to meet multiple
: L' Z: ~3 \& S$ a5 M! Gdeadlines. The ability to develop or enhance forecasting models would be a definite asset.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Economics is preferred. Equivalencies (such as a Bachelor’s Degree and
& b$ I' d3 y  j3 d- Y$ |! T% Nsignificant relevant work experience) will be considered. This position requires a strong grasp of economic
% ?% V  f% ]7 V; E$ D+ J( x5 }theory and quantitative methods, familiarity with economic research techniques and knowledge of econometric
software (e.g. ESTools, Eviews, Shazam), and excellent communication skills.

NOTE: Final candidates will be asked to complete a security screening. This competition may be used to fill
