financial and operational success of the Horowitz Theatre as well as

venues within the realm of the Students´ Union. In the light of that

2. Marketing and Promotion( V6 w" N, Y' P5 {+ e8 h

# e; G5 Q$ F$ B wfocuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty, - S7 U/ P6 n3 Q

This strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:
) S4 E m; B. t& {' }' u9 i4 h& b j& q· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz

take advantage of other internal and external advertising / x2 p4 e8 z" Q( o
opportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional + _; f# c3 s/ s) x2 C
literature on an ongoing basis.9 ? \9 i# ~) y; L# U
· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.

effectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the ) g1 g& D6 I' p' `+ C( y" \& J; _3 G8 \
venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and " ?9 w# {+ D* N& z: g
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
# G8 ]& Y4 B$ K& C0 ^ zthe renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited

· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues . a6 A6 ~* s- @" o
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
! R: f: R! M3 h: Bevaluating and terminating, as necessary.5 V3 Y* i5 I! N' E
To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at 1 M9 E# T9 `0 v3 Q+ r6 v4 B5 ~
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such ) `5 [' w b ^( W
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and . }: ?- X& E. x9 e: d
cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it & s4 o- K- _& ?# l
is in operation or needs to be in operation.
0 s9 e( Z5 R2 D0 O: C· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure # b2 s& p% \- y: A4 M( g
that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to 5 s& Q% a; a5 P5 K3 [, Y& y! k: s! Z8 ?
facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all 8 ~9 ]4 x6 S8 [
renters needs are met.

effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and

the appropriate setup/tear down of each venue.

appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and contribute in a ( `) P# W/ E/ ?+ C
positive way to the smooth operation and success of the venues. This

To provide input and expertise in the formulation of appropriate
7 H! P% D2 K1 g/ X# boperating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of
( R* V4 B$ f U& zProgramming and Venues and to discuss and refine those budgets
' ~- R, Q$ o3 X) A4 D* L2 h# S) CManager of Programming and Venues, and Manager of Finance &
& R( }, B7 s YAdministration prior to their submission for final approval.
4 ^5 X _+ C V1 h0 u4 m( n· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively
7 G% S- g2 j7 d z! Y4 preflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects 8 h; ~" _1 q( x9 a# L! i
the best interests of the venues and the Students´ Union.
* h) p m$ j. k$ z: O· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and
/ J% `% D6 \- m4 k# nadministrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the % m6 J! F9 g, ~% t& I3 z- D
compilation of monthly and annual financial statements, and such 9 }' a+ }$ X; A, v# H
other reports as may be necessary.

with all financial and administrative procedures, with the SU´s

Administration with a view to determining and implementing action ) l% @/ y: [) A- l1 S
aimed at improving the financial and/or functional effectiveness of

· To ensure the existence of adequate, effective and accurate job

setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for

the billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely

5. Overall Roles and Responsibilities

! S3 W$ B2 O' D2 zrenting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and
+ z! v9 H; P& G1 e9 ? Fneeds, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the
Q8 D" g4 M: ^venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:+ i4 S: `. S% [# K2 W
1 `0 W7 I' r8 x; {) S· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as + O2 Y4 q4 A- D# O
may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this % |/ Z7 J6 N- M0 T( u* ~) g
is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes - f$ A( p2 N. i* u' S$ |. m
in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation, 6 m, B+ `: z; M. w+ y& o7 f: q
pricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing,

to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and X" n" m1 V* r0 F8 t
functionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.

· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to

· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and
- ]4 G, C U# u, O/ }1 K' D5 B( uthat such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.

· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and

· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the ! t8 R1 E1 g& W9 W& R+ }4 i
SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately & R1 {3 z& l9 H0 V2 u% f, m
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
! J+ H' n4 U* M, mfollow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.; B# j7 x5 d1 Z; n! S: @3 T
To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
. \! e3 e! H# D4 Teffectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that
, j& g( z7 K: ^& X) a0 I: kthe cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision

· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of

· To attend such meetings as may be required to support the smooth
