EDMONTON - A woman was killed Monday when the truck she was driving turned over and crushed her beneath its roof.5 z+ G+ ^' L1 x! p0 Q1 U l* z7 g

The woman was driving a gravel truck two kilometres north of Westlock when it veered off the road. The truck rolled across Highway 44, trapping and crushing the woman in the cab.

) i) H( w3 I8 I* E6 g% u4 ]) dAudrey Wiedrick, 57, from Westlock, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to RCMP. She was not wearing a seat belt.7 R" i; K8 r7 E5 b9 T
Wiedrick worked for Alberta Highway Services and was hauling a water tank and asphalt packer when the accident occurred, said Jason Maloney, spokesman for the Alberta occupational health and safety office.

6 s4 m- M$ f- [& Q: p+ HIt is not known what caused the woman to drive the truck off the road. Occupational health and safety and the RCMP are investigating.

"The truck is considered a workplace, that was the driver's workplace," Maloney said, explaining why they are investigating.
