Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities( a& R. Z1 M, A- g) v7 \
- submit information for community news
6 L! v+ G- ?' Q- provide volunteers to update membership database
# N+ C, a% n$ [# P- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers. I b) h8 c" N6 t; X/ u* |; X8 U
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
# T' i6 p/ i4 ?! R& ]. D! i- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties [) s3 [+ Q; v( O4 R, _9 b( _
- provide volunteers for various programs
. ]: f/ r2 F8 f4 U: h4 W- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
/ I9 ?0 |- ?+ X, s# N* v3 |- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation1 U. G* X( m3 N1 Y6 M
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities2 [. \" w% M+ W" ` B
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
7 R0 w' {6 y* P+ a# |) t& T- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
& E( ?: E3 a3 Q6 b- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed, N- @ `6 z. {. C$ Z: {0 O
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
% a+ L# c/ n! W7 J- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
) Y* Q2 D2 F0 d& ~& D- Q: x8 `- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events # c! W" C; I1 L" e) `
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
9 q+ S+ }7 e7 N" }4 g1 l- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
& t( a; U* p+ y# `' M- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
4 E1 @; G* X& ?- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis . V0 L9 [; s4 E" t: v
- evaluations
, C5 _, U: q4 q7 o; M( B' l* a4 j- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
- s" A8 x& N! h. s0 `- good oral and written Chinese and English skills7 H: E" K: j7 q1 i
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
/ p9 r& B3 M3 A) z4 \- leadership skills+ ^' q8 h% X5 J4 R/ t- i
- management and supervision skills
+ x9 ~# u, C) V- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills; m; L- ^' g A2 t; w3 W/ U
