Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities# @* w" { } b" j% S+ V, p
- submit information for community news
4 D: y" o* d+ m- provide volunteers to update membership database
' U; G0 c% d/ q8 i; |4 H5 h- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
- E5 i" W4 r# {! U- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
& R7 B$ y" |8 e$ z. y- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties2 {$ T% B" y4 Y9 x8 p# {
- provide volunteers for various programs
2 k6 |( s" q/ F- U+ }5 t# ^) o- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
9 Z0 s: x5 o- x- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
4 ?8 W. T9 D3 o( A4 B- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
: p+ V4 B0 h# r) y6 `6 @- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
& z4 @; p" p+ a. V4 I5 m7 G0 f- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports( M, E) K+ H) W/ @/ r
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed% Y( W( n4 u# y3 `5 ^6 i
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed) X v. L0 L- {* j
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! r6 F3 O0 `7 `6 u/ W# a
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
( G! a" a$ W) C- z- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 1 h# Z/ Q3 Z$ D1 Y9 c; [
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ) f; k0 p" k- y+ \/ B, l
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications* j/ g B& \6 r" S! d4 W: {. M. p
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
j* u8 K+ S/ o4 Z) G- good oral and written Chinese and English skills5 K7 z9 x, H9 e, Z& J
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
/ O+ |$ G0 ? [/ J3 R- leadership skills5 W u: i5 G8 m1 m) y0 j8 H
- management and supervision skills' _ y3 k2 }+ ~- T: w2 X
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills) }" Y7 [* E' \( M5 B1 P& r
