Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities% ]* J7 H$ H9 @0 P# `
- submit information for community news
" d3 V5 T" u' ?9 f+ C, \- provide volunteers to update membership database
& Z9 E9 d8 y( G0 i& `* Y" q. u- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
2 n! d& k( L G8 c- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
4 N( W* V3 p6 |$ B- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
m6 [$ [" _6 |) Q ^" j" ~- provide volunteers for various programs
1 r$ Y8 w& g* X- L- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
' z) V( y5 t2 ~" s- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
+ |1 q$ V( I, N4 x8 y6 U- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities8 U3 l+ j! Q( s+ {0 X9 e
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
: u- ~8 O: V6 {3 t4 l) E+ ^- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
. ^; E A! B! V- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed9 l& K& H" K) H# u
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
3 U9 }$ ]. I! `7 \2 D& I- _( y8 [- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required), F5 Z, u' b7 b9 U p& z
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ( Y. {/ W* G, J/ H7 o. l
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
, {# l7 x6 M$ C. y) T- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ! R6 N9 i# f1 g& P, B- L
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
% F ?3 `+ |8 S$ B. N- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications
9 K/ z4 \4 e1 }" x: |- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
, k/ E$ `% s/ A1 o/ V2 ?$ Y- good oral and written Chinese and English skills% O& I L2 v/ c2 ~" w. K
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
. V9 }/ |6 x3 c! L n& R' S- leadership skills
, e4 ?, G- m! c- d: y4 f- management and supervision skills0 S% E% q- ^9 l- Z
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills' y: d% ?0 r5 t V' d
