Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- _' n6 Y# f8 O7 L7 D8 U# b) CKey Responsibilities
- O8 e( }$ \( b. v# h- submit information for community news 2 u8 K, ?4 W% @/ t% `
- provide volunteers to update membership database
9 L8 C# X& w) N% Q- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
2 y" D3 H; `8 i2 L2 Y- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
% C- V2 \( ]+ R4 E: z% L- ^9 |- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
8 O( v8 v/ [# \, w. r, Z- provide volunteers for various programs + l8 [# K7 g& _! i( b- T" \8 Q6 ^
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
' I/ G. z3 p* U# x% ?: }- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation Z; O K) F- `$ N9 [( G
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities5 V* b* C/ t$ ?0 b7 O& r& F A+ P
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
$ v4 B# `7 M; Z) X4 \7 J m6 O- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
8 f& R* @# c0 ^8 M. M$ \. V6 W- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed. c3 ?( w' X+ m0 A& T
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed2 Z- e4 r1 B5 `9 q! ~
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
4 c3 P% Z2 P3 q& ?- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
: D1 t/ [ Q( ^- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
8 }, R2 E- g; Y4 J' r* n- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers / h& L2 n# F. U; M$ H
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 6 a/ \0 ^7 S+ ^. K T
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 6 y: O3 P4 t5 W, i6 {# R
- evaluations 1 u4 S* I7 ?! Y) v/ Q
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications$ T8 q- b4 d, m, B6 |/ t
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education( t4 [5 ?3 ~5 w) ? C$ L- g
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
" x# K( t$ j4 v4 m- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services7 i4 T! d; s7 g0 W
- leadership skills4 t: |* l: v( h [, E4 p3 b' F/ s
- management and supervision skills; a. r0 p7 |+ ?7 j0 U
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
