Job Description

•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals. x, z: r+ Q) n
•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board
0 Z* x8 D/ \- P•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency 3 p9 j  @1 _' U+ k7 h+ q
•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements # }" p% ]' o  d  W& x- }
•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures
" I: q4 s4 G! G' s0 X. f- I2 k•        development and management of the programs budget7 Z% p2 L& C5 A. K
•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets

( o3 P& {' ~* L•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff
& z: U# d+ Q. `•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers
9 a8 ]8 V+ ?) L  C•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions
# r, E. j" D0 H7 T1 [) z2 {4 q•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators; ]6 {- e, R$ z6 p
•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth

& C; n5 d5 |+ R; q5 n: `•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff! M; ?) }) S! l$ H+ O) X: y" w3 G

4 C& M8 C. K  g" sPrograms/Services
* z! {" N! b0 O2 Y  l•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
8 _. ^1 w, y- U' W; j•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities8 q  z2 o# H' ]
•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders; T% E0 `; W- j, U; N4 \
•        set program priorities and directions
2 i% q. o! w9 d1 A7 N5 g% t' Y•        identify community and user needs and trends
# q% g/ J! L- j; j; b•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends  b, k9 Q; B) x! ]; e6 B
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research
  h, k! c0 R2 l# t- H3 z) B•        maintenance of appropriate reporting
- S* A' m, t2 D7 ~; k•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required* W+ C$ C2 A$ U5 J2 Q% W
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development* O9 ]6 A1 e9 @
•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

1 H/ b- l. \5 d* w: M1 GExternal Relations. l. ~4 _* x& T0 P, H
•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
( x  g7 @# |; {) a% O2 T9 m•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders
, O, V3 z, ^/ P/ L5 ]; F•        communicate the value of the organization to the public' Y3 H0 L- ]9 \
•        identify community needs and trends
6 X8 v/ Z' E* v  r•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups
  m& m8 q" k/ L1 y  u: t•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
" E: y- x; C* s+ M•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
" v6 @$ m: E8 x•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff

Qualifications; P* ?4 ~+ b6 B' ?* }* O
-        University degree in a related field; . M$ e: _% r' \" k$ M
-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;5 m. x0 x5 D- D& d5 L
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; 4 J! D$ t6 }3 n6 i: O
-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization

; n/ I% c( P- z7 H! eSalary+ W, {. a" a; U
-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits   X4 o1 X* g: f" F8 c6 \
4 o. _" B$ [' y1 ]# Y# o
