Board

•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
# W  N( e! B, I8 A; ?- e  V5 J+ v•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board
5 U4 P! ]  @. M) Y•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency

•        development and management of the programs budget

Staff
: ]6 _+ P! q. I' }•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff
) b: L! ?+ ^6 y0 h& Q•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers
3 J6 e, c* X3 D7 i0 R•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions
  x$ y6 M4 E' Z2 I" W9 p1 Q•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
: N% v% d0 C2 ~  `  J, H' y•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth/ E! v" ^9 B4 q& D7 a' f
•        meet with staff on regular basis- h* Z8 S# |& ~$ z$ W6 a. {
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff  z. k' [" A1 ?; X+ G4 j

! R" {. H: f9 d! h* s•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
; L2 i7 p  i/ E& {1 V•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities3 M7 e0 S* \$ [3 V  e4 V
•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
3 @0 Q. A" T' c' W; Z0 w2 l•        set program priorities and directions
) Y& n4 D& i' T4 {! ~% _•        identify community and user needs and trends
1 [  X$ |$ j6 ~2 n$ ]0 Q•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends$ H  @7 Y* i3 M% a0 T5 R+ ~: U
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research4 L* c, n( [: F  P. v' R6 Z  _
•        maintenance of appropriate reporting. `  \. I! Z7 [5 C5 @: [
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required/ H: V) g% G+ e1 p' z
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development! y" B, u! z# K/ X! s
•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others
: e+ g5 ^; P0 c1 l5 @; W- f* @2 V; ~* b, L% M1 }- u
External Relations
' s* Y' g6 v% _$ h•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities0 [/ ]7 C) L4 E/ F; ^4 e
•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders
, J; H8 o0 `* K+ L7 X•        communicate the value of the organization to the public& ]4 i3 l1 i) H& S0 j% r1 A
•        identify community needs and trends
+ ^/ e9 Y% T3 W( r+ D•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups3 P' i  a# u" r/ i
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups4 B- {. O% H% |6 m
•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
7 ?2 {+ f$ D: F0 W; Y% h•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff3 e( X3 J; x" h! i/ X: k

% S3 a) a% q1 }) UQualifications. m: c- {( I" [0 R. r: `/ W
-        University degree in a related field;
2 o% h  W/ ~$ A- L-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
: F7 n1 d( L0 ?" f" r) {-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; ; p2 A7 G$ Z* d2 z$ P
-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization , z) d0 z" C2 x) N( o, l" b
, N/ y0 }3 b8 J5 ]& L
Salary
5 f& ~( D' X. q2 ?/ [-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits 1 Y8 e8 @) x! M8 j2 h
