Job Description

•        reports directly to the Board of Directors. J9 b; s* K+ O3 B2 ^
•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
- T: _' ~, ?" @; D% B•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board
+ L+ G4 [3 }1 x: ^8 p1 @•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements
% \1 t* Z  L; P# \•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures
& {' i# j; [( }( I# o5 \6 G•        development and management of the programs budget
# @1 n# L/ F2 w! x•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets

•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff
1 B. }" D8 B$ O, ]2 X4 O4 @•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers
8 ~1 q1 F0 X$ _. G, E, f•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions: E0 h9 U! C- @
•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators" _# J$ ]0 A6 E+ o7 V; a
•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth
3 q* j$ ]5 z) E5 W3 u/ d•        meet with staff on regular basis( |7 I6 D' L5 L7 E: O$ Y
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff6 u) J( C& U% h  T0 q; C" |

& E# G% r! G& d9 w8 g: vPrograms/Services
2 \2 _/ ~, Y3 L•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services% _1 p4 z. V% p) E* T/ O
•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
! p$ z% g; x6 W  T; j" m: b  j•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
6 ~% t/ w2 ^  R, O* m•        set program priorities and directions
% [" }' N/ I% S5 Q5 _6 q+ V•        identify community and user needs and trends" F3 ^, T7 O& ~2 q  q
•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends$ @5 F$ s# E" l; t
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research

•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required

•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others* s( s# x+ c2 a. q2 |- M0 m

1 m8 l1 L, E- ?•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities8 X) P6 i3 U* ~. y( y
•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders
' z# c  Q' d' a) B( c•        communicate the value of the organization to the public
" n  r8 [$ T  A  ]•        identify community needs and trends/ N# r& k5 c! s$ L; `3 u
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups, P* ?3 u% l* J) N
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
- q9 G8 e. N3 y1 w! g7 R•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
8 H' Y! j1 Q3 V3 w+ b" ~5 W•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff+ x/ K. f2 I7 B- E

. h; {& G# i" _1 `8 aQualifications
0 y4 m, g' S8 V( \! @6 a' ~! _-        University degree in a related field; ( {0 }2 X' t0 A4 J
-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
8 T4 k5 f1 S% w2 S# j4 d-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; 4 C  A0 O  ?0 M( B. ^9 \$ i) `0 \% L
-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization   s* _$ P! o* V" X) ^6 D0 y# R& l- R

" I# R! ~- u: [3 G$ X0 ASalary! q) A! y1 J: t+ m0 U1 U
-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits 7 u' a' L: t3 I
