Board

•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals# H8 b# p, j9 V+ s1 ^# H' K$ _
•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board1 I& R( F, a. N
•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures

& N1 F" F) U( w# h: g: |. R•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets& ~% l) t6 K$ o- x: H

•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff* Z# _1 b+ Z' ^9 b) O
•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers! z$ }" I9 |+ a1 j# J
•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions/ R- `" ?  e; K  Z, i) w" s5 ~
•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
; ]% z; n! Y1 n2 g% g•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth. C" q4 @+ Q( m, L: _9 P* n- \% \
•        meet with staff on regular basis  V& |  _# z' h7 V( O
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

. y; m7 Z( F" r6 g+ a+ r•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
7 h2 A0 p8 p" i4 o" g7 |•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
- R5 w# Y/ t) _- ]2 S2 A( }•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders

•        identify community and user needs and trends
! O" ~1 ?3 q5 y•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends9 Q+ ~7 v! n2 U- W! m
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research
& s4 t: y4 i9 [+ h; a( Q•        maintenance of appropriate reporting/ W/ q! b# S% d  Z; _
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required, o3 L8 L  }  R
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development
/ ?! ~( O( w. `/ \) d- j; ^•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

2 r2 Y- X# N" d- K; C& j$ A•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
) S1 _: r# d6 N% U5 X/ u1 o•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders7 O$ T) Z/ L& q( Z
•        communicate the value of the organization to the public8 h; x$ W- `# ~  ~: K
•        identify community needs and trends
  G: {3 \* y' ~& T+ i: c' H( E2 M•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups2 e) Y4 c0 q& ^+ {# m
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups) h0 |. P4 F4 u. F6 z
•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
# c  V( d! e9 B) k•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff
! ]9 h6 _* A( P( H3 u
6 x, N2 Q! {8 a2 |2 zQualifications
6 R' S4 ^1 J5 j# H" t/ d+ N# I-        University degree in a related field;
- B9 T8 N( ~- [6 X) [" U/ i  n-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;+ s0 s  T- [! B  l
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; $ ~- a+ \0 y2 \, Y; F3 o: P
-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization & v7 K" E/ T. z9 Q0 M) V) d; P
$ L/ c1 t/ D4 o2 }! {
Salary0 \2 |& }  z) i( X- i
-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
! g  w0 p. v1 P- j$ P
- M7 v# L' e" T9 |2 \3 ZStandard Requirements
