Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. ! r0 y7 E, ?) Y/ w! u1 m

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services

- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre4 M, L, l) y, K
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
* W! O$ Q8 z& r: B2 B4 x# K- assist in writing proposal for ISP
( u- y; |# i0 y- write quarterly and final reports for ISP" a0 I! N6 c% a/ s
- explore new ideas for ISP L! G- v) K* ?# |3 l& e6 Z( j
- hold regular meetings with ISP team- t# l7 l2 s. J- [: b# G. P8 G
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications d" ]% y' E" z8 N/ f* P
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
5 x2 ^. U/ r+ a- good oral and written Chinese and English skills& g+ X9 i$ ~; f5 t
- experience in community work and immigrant services
5 A' S" m: s/ V$ c, y: ^- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
