Position title: Community Development Worker

# W& b9 s9 y' B2 ^1 F( ?Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. - community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community. y9 s* K* g6 ^3 W o
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
# X" X% w o+ e4 t) A$ o- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services9 f+ R# `6 D6 l6 I! V2 V4 d
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
$ ~- X! E2 F3 ?# W- coordinate good will activities
& E( \8 ?' I1 P* I% D, u* s3 h9 M1 P- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members) t7 E: ^- W" i4 E9 n; H" X
- submit information for community news

- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

3 B- f5 i- v! n- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre% o( d* ~4 @; X1 y( S
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- j3 \* V$ y- B' n0 @, _/ I( ^- o- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

Qualifications
w/ R& n5 d3 a* A3 j- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education ( z' r7 C- Z' ^( I+ f
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
2 ~" S7 M4 z# R/ p- experience in community work and immigrant services9 l" m, {2 G) z6 e f' k
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars. j; m" x9 z; J
- leadership skills4 U4 G& L8 T5 s% L0 y# D
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
