Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

3 s0 v+ |* y2 Q+ S- o- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
6 F3 P! g! Z2 D+ x/ a/ P- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
" G: @. o/ c/ e$ O g0 s- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services3 f8 O! I( `3 }5 b
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies* e2 T/ { _5 i
- coordinate good will activities
/ ~9 V5 v ^8 ~" s- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members
* g0 i" V1 d/ d4 S- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.' t4 ?" {" g9 @+ P
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities* V3 z, B- h' j8 Z' D
- update ASSIST website

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services1 v) a5 x& k5 N4 h
- assist in writing proposal for ISP; o* c: K! Y: F1 O" C! T. R6 c$ E
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP/ @6 o/ Z! V$ V) j6 V
- explore new ideas for ISP 9 B% o# a# n* v+ |, L) |
- hold regular meetings with ISP team g4 j( v# ^4 Z% |. a& z
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education

( u7 b8 G* N4 g. P( z- experience in community work and immigrant services% f E( {" `0 W8 `& c
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
