Position title: Community Development Worker

* `# _3 }% D( s6 p8 nPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
U+ v! ]% g: n! T: A# j; O7 P- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
3 v7 n! w2 d( N. ]$ `0 _- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services7 h1 N2 E, S$ g
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies6 ^4 X# Y4 c/ Z% s1 ?
- coordinate good will activities' e4 z# o- @- u6 B( ]: l( L
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members( E' }& U0 _" M2 D! r }+ s
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.2 I& b; ?6 l2 a3 f$ q! ^$ p
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities8 z4 D6 Z3 x( g- g
- update ASSIST website& V1 ]$ r) _9 `1 c
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 9 z5 m. o. `4 Z) L* Q$ U
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
( l! j3 O9 C) s6 ~2 ~! _5 Q5 f- experience in community work and immigrant services* G- ]6 r2 a' V& V) d
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars* S' |1 R g4 ~: e1 P& S+ F

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
