9 t, g0 H- x& ?+ @& ]+ MThis is a clinic conducted by Badminton Alberta to train people as badminton officials. People who play badminton at a recreational, club, or higher level are ideal candidates for) N' {. x! w- t; o; {% k6 C
becoming badminton officials. The clinic consists of two parts. The first part consists of classroom training. This is followed by on-court practice during which trainees will have a chance to put their classroom learning to on-court practice. Trainees will also observe how certified badminton officials officiate matches and learn from them.3 y, i9 K X6 r. \; Q
) m. y" [! l+ K% Q; RTrainees who completed the theory and on-court practice at the training clinic can decide when they are ready to attempt a closed book exam conducted by the Badminton Officials5 _4 E6 U8 U2 g% |4 k
of Alberta Association. Upon passing the exam, the trainee is eligible to be certified as a badminton official at the regional level and will be given opportunities to work with different5 h4 g1 l- Z4 L2 E+ r' L
certified badminton officials to practice their officiating skills over a period of time at different badminton events.1 J7 I' O$ F, A- p$ k) D0 T, l# U

Certified regional badminton officials can move on to become certified officials at the provincial, national, and international level. |
